Ideas for Kubotas next BX lineup?

Protectors for the front steering cylinder and ball joints would be nice and shouldn't add a whole lot to the price. Also a reclining seat option on all models. It would be nice if they could reduce the amount of engine shaking during shut off.

#1 thing for us in selling these is that you can't add ANY cost. The B-series is only marginally more as it is. Deere added position control on the 1-series subcompact and made it as expensive as our B-series machines are. I would not want position control given the cost involved. Many other suggestions here would be addressed by simply jumping to the larger model. Suggestions like protectors for the steering cylinders are more realistic.

I agree that adding cost can be an issue, but I think given the current state of the market, Kubota may need to lower their margins to include some of the nicer features. I don't think that HST+ is a realistic addition, but I do think that if Kubota offered it as an option in all classes, even with the added costs it's a nice differentiator.

Personally, I think Kubota is losing SCUT market share to the JD 1026r, it's time for them to step it up and wow us with new features in this space. The BX's are dated now.

Agree that its due for a refresh. Also agree on the 'wow' features... although I am not sure what they are. We've been having little trouble with Deere. Our BX sales are up YTD. The price points for the new sub compacts are nearly in our B-series territory. I think they took a step backwards on a value basis. Thats what I don't want Kubota to do. I don't want position control because it adds cost to 100% of the machines, when it matters in maybe 10% of applications.

Maintaining the price points makes it difficult to add much of anything. I have a BX1860 that I bought strictly because it was the cheapest option. I bought it to do many jobs and it is truly a jack of all trades and master of none. Position control is of no added value to me. However I would like to see them make small changes such as a two piece front cowl ( that giant 1 piece is a pain!), a real tach and hourmeter that can be read while it is running. I would also like to see better HST fan protection. All changes cost money. Even if they keep the same content they will spend millions in a face lift. The only change I would want and would be willing to actually pay a reasonable premium for is to get rid of those dang turn buckles on the three point.

I bought the smallest mower deck because I needed a narrow footprint for its non-mowing jobs. I really wish they put the wheels that turn sideways on it like on every other deck.

As messicks said all the bells and whistles I could want are available on bigger tractors. If money wasnt an object I would replace my bx with a B sized tractor, a zero turn mower and a side by side atv.

John Deere has addressed this by offering the 1023 with more features than the old 2305, but fewer than the 1026R. I am probably in the minority, but I won't buy another tractor without position control. We have a BX2660 as well as John Deere 2305, but there were no alternatives at the time.

Kioti Enters Subcompact Tractor Market with CS240 | Tractor News
For a Kioti fan-boy you sure spend a lot of time in the Kubota forum, sniping any thread you can stick your $0.02 worth in. :confused2:

This thread, as you can read in the OP's post, is located in the Kubota forum and regards ideas on how folks use their CURRENTLY OWNED BX's and how the BX model lineup might be further improved. Can you stay on topic and in your lane, instead of trying to start an endless and unproductive pissing match?
