Somebody "borrowed" my tractor

Is there a way to appear "off-line" on this site other than signing out?

I found an answer... of sorts.
You can appear "invisible" while still being signed in.
Doesn't mean much as it puts a bright red button next to your messages.
Must not be many folks use it as I have never come across it on anybody.

I have noticed over the past few months that some folks must stay signed in with computers on line open to this site most of the day. You can almost figure they are away when they are gray.
But, then again, maybe sitting on the porch cleaning their shotgun...
No Jim..... I didn't borrow your tractor :):)
A thousand miles away and I have my own blue diesel guzzler.

Hey I never had an alarm system when I lived in the Big City, and as a kid in Oak Cliff, Tx we never even locked the doors. But the Times they are a changin'.

Yes, times have changed! That must have been many years ago. Oak Cliff is not the best part of town now.

Mine should show up that way.

Yours looks gray to me right now. Maybe the red only shows to the user.
Does mine look red or gray to you now?

Thanks. That's a good way to leave it then.
Now if there is a way to block what thread your looking at at any given time this site would be a little bit more secure.
Folks are beginning to see what problems can arise by being encouraged
by the various social networking sites to hang out all their laundry. Then google drags the net and puts it all together.

It already does. Only you (and I assume the admins) can see what thread you are looking at when they look at your profile. It is suppressed for everyone else.

Your right again:thumbsup:
I had only checked mine after going invisible and it still showed where I was looking.
I just checked yours and it doesn't show where you are currently.
Thanks, Ron

And now back to our regular programming.....

Jim, I certainly would be peeved at what happened. I'd be all over the place looking for tracks and would do exactly what you've done. Then, in a year or so if it didn't happen again I would get lazy and start leaving the key in again:rolleyes:

I hope it doesn't happen again.

Thanks Jim. I'm pretty sure this is a one-time incident, and what I've done is sufficient. I have been wanting to get some kind of video surveillance installed, and this could be the trigger that makes me do that. I don't think I'll ever go back to leaving my keys "hidden" like I did because my grandson is getting too old for me to do that for his and my equipment's safety. This is my wake-up call and I've always been easy to wake. I'm not gonna be caught napping like I was the last time.
