Alright first liar here doesn't have a chance:) One of my best shots was my first deer. I was in a tree stand, and the deer presented itself at about 65 yards away with a quartering shot. I had a borrowed iron sighted 30-30 Win. lever action rifle. I place the shot in the boiler room, and the deer jumped and run towards me, and then turned right at about 35 yards. as it passed square to my shooting position I swung the rifle like a shotgun, no sighting involved (or at least no conscious sight picture) and fired. He folded up like a ton of bricks, with the rear end actually going over the front end and the head pointing in the direction he came from. Upon examination the second shot had severed the spinal column. The first shot was fatal, but the deer just didn't know it yet.

10 years old...
Red Ryder BB gun...
Dove flying over a corn field...
Shot that sucker in the chest....
Pops and another guy were arguing over who shot it...
We kept the bird...
Cleaned it....

Only one bb found in it and it was a copperhead.

Bird was flying at an angle, too. The Red Ryder shot so slowly, you could see it hit the bird. I tried to tell them, but they didn't believe me at the time.

That reminds me of another fancy/lucky shot with a pellet pistol at 15 feet. The BIL and myself shooting at flies with a wooden fence as backstop. I shot one and then bragged I could put another pellet in the same hole.. So I did, but the BIL said "aint not way that pellet went into the exact same hole" So I dug out the lead and of course there was only one chunk because the soft lead had welded together. The BIL said " see I told you there is only one chunk of lead".. Well I took him down to the reloading room, and took an unfired pellet and weighed it, and weighed the chunk of lead.. and guess what the chunk of lead weighed nearly twice as much as the unfired pellet. How about that.

Honest, I did not just make that up..I did say, it might have been luck not skill..I didn't say I could do it on demand.. At that point in my life I typically did shoot somewhere north of 10,000 rounds of pistol ammo a year (including rimfire) and practiced at least once per week, typically several hundred rounds. So I was a fair shot with a pistol..In fact even old and arthritic and fat as I am today.. I can still hit a little.:)

1958... I had an old pump pellet gun. Tenant's rooster got into our hens. My mother yelled at me to git rid of it. I started running the 200 feet to the hen house area and took a wild shot with the pellet gun I had been practicing with. The pellet hit the rooster in the head. Knocked it out. I slowed to a walk, bent over and picked it up,then walked back to my mother - standing with her mouth open. I calmly asked her what she wanted me to do with it. The rooster woke up a few minutes later.

1966, waiting to go to school, saw a rabbit run into a brush pile, got out my trusty .22 and waited, and waited, and waited....heard the bus coming and said "Screw it!" Shot into the little brush pile and hit the sucker dead between the eyes! Even though I had no clue where he was when I pulled the trigger, that was my best shot!

Conversely, last week when I shot "at" a groundhog standing side to me perfectly still from 40' with my 10/.22 and missed him clean, was not my best shot. :D

Took one of them 'cruises' ONCE. Walked to the starboard side stern area
and there was a skeet thing goin' on. After watching 6-7 guys fail miserably I stood up to plate and nailed every one of them... It was
really blowin' hard too, I was even impressed! :)

I once shot a squirrel out of the top of an oak tree with a .22 pistol, but that's where it got interesting.

After I shot the squirrel and it fell out of the tree, I placed it on a hook which was attached to my belt. As it turns out, the squirrel wasn't quite as dead as I had believed. That sucker came to life and it was on from there. Imagine having a ticked off squirrel attached to the side of your hip. It was an interesting experience, to say the least.

I once shot a pheaseant at about 35 or so yards with a 12 ga. #5 copper clad magnum. It was a desperation shot, but he went down. Cleaned the bird that night and he had one pellet, entered under the tail and came out the neck.
