Another interesting thread JD.
I personally dont use my real name. No point and no need to. To me, that dont make someone credible. Sop and thing of some of the most credible members here and I dont even know their name. Maybe the have it in their profile???? But I dont check because that dont make them credible to me. IE: Soundguy, Bird, FWJ, JJ, DiamonPilot, TripleR, etc. The list goes on but those are just a few that I think we can all agree that there advise is usually solid. Sure, some use real names and give great advise too. But I dont think how they choose to appear online has any bearing on their advise. If someone dont take MY advise as credible because I dont have a picture of myself, give out my real name, or any other specific detail...Their loss, not mine.
No on to the actual question of the thread:
BASHING! There's nothing that makes a members advice less credible to me than just saying a brand is lesser than the one they own. We all have a right to be proud of 'our' brand, or what we own, but there's a definitive line that just drives me crazy when people do.
And when people say things without actually saying anything at all.
 Agreed.
I think the #1 thing for me is the bashing. Only really see in in 2 categories. The tractor buying threads, and some of the chainsaw threads. Those guys that proclaim Brand X is just better than Brand Y across the Board.....Well to me that only shows your ignorance and lack of experience. Especially when they go on to say...." I have only ever had Brand X and never ever had any problems. They are the best" Well, unless you have owned/operated ALL brands, how do you know:confused2:
Another that does it for me is when someone answers a question that you ask, and it is clear by their response that they didnt even read your WHOLE post.:confused2: Not just questions I have had, but have seen others as well. I wish I had a dime for every time I heard an OP say..."did you even read my post"
Thats all I can come up with for now. I am sure I will think of more later.
