My Mistake

HA HA HA, it sounds like something I would tell my wife. I never go when I need to and when I do I am in twice the pain or sickness. Then she makes fun of me for not going right away. :(

After it happened, my wife said I'm crazy for not going to the doctor, and I simply replied... "It's a guy thing."

My foot seems to be a little better today. It's still swollen and painful, but at least I can walk now, without excruciating pain. Despite the pain and swelling, I'm now convinced that it's not broken, so I'm going to skip the doctors visit for now, unless things change.

They say that everything happens for a reason, so I think this was a reminder for me to be careful. Looking back on what happened, I now realize that I was very lucky that my lapse in judgement didn't get me seriously hurt, because the trailer could have easily ran me over if things hadn't happened exactly the way they did.

Sounds to me like it might be a good idea to wear steel toed boots all the time. Would be great if you could find a comfortable pair at a reasonable price.

I am in and out of the house a lot while working, and don't like tracking dirt in, so I wear pull-on rubber boots much of the time. I was surprised to find that you can get them with steel toes, and immediately snapped up a pair. Pretty cheap protection, if not exactly stylish.

Now that is below the belt! We guys are all entitled to avoid going to the doctor's office until it is too late. It's in either the Constitution or Bill of Rights I'm quite sure.

It's in our jeans!:laughing::laughing::laughing:
We are NOT to go to the Quacks' until we are at least half dead.:D

Who gives a rats behind about 'style' when we are talking about safety?

You can get steel toed with a steel shank for instep protection from nails in sheep boots as well as regular work boots. You can also get steel toed sneakers/running shoes.

I've talked myself into owning one of those engine hoist booms to help out with heavy items. I'm thinking that one of the hydraulic lift carts makes a lot of sense too for getting stuff into and out of the SUV or pickup unassisted.

I bought an engine hoist a few years back for a specific reason...figured I'd get rid of it after the project was done. I've found many back saving--not to mention foot-saving reasons to keep it around.
The older I get, the more I look for things to go wrong.

I heard that I did. I was once young and stupid with a strong back and a weak mind. Now I am older and hopefully  a little wiser.

I don't pick that rear end up and move it any more, I get something to move it with.

MasseyWV....

GET YOUR BUTT and your FOOT to the clinic and get it X-Rayed. Your foot that is.
At least with a X-Ray you will know whether or not it is busted.

It's been almost a month since my little trailer mishap, and I never did go to the doctor, but my foot is fine now. :D

Do you have trouble sitting? :D You've got a horseshoe!:D

It is good that you are okay. I still think you've got a horseshoe, tho.
