I have over 15k miles on my 2011 XLT 4X4 3.73 SC with Max tow and HD and 8' box.and use it as a long distance deliverer of myself as a professional and as a farm truck on my time off.

Its quiet.
It handles great and rides great.
Its quiet.
The controls in the cab work like velvet.
Sync is flawless...I suspect those who find it is not so are not computer literate.
I put in 3 way pioneers and the sound is sensational.
I get between 17.5 -20.7 pending my mood and weather.
Remote start aftermarket is the way to go...absolutely delicious up here in the winter. It tows easily, and with 8,900# on my 16' trailer the bumper doesn't even drop at all. It pulls this so easy you think you left it behind.

There are a lot of good trucks...but for me...I would be hard pressed to order something different...maybe if all above and I got 30 mpg.

Thanks for the update Ham. It's nice to get feedback from people who have really used their trucks as intended. It sounds like you have a keeper.

+1 for the update Ham! It good to have real world data to measure the trucks by.

BTW - I entered the Ecoboost into the "Build Your Own" and it limits the cahssis configuration to anyt but the short bed, regular cab. Seems like every other combo is available. Maybe its would be a little to fun in such a short wheel base/ light truck? A little squirrelly on the corners at such dangerous speeds? :)

$43k for a gas pickup truck makes me giggle just a tad bit.

I'll say. I didn't pay much more than that for my '12 F-350 SC 4x4 loaded.

Adding $7800 to upgrade to a diesel engine is giggle worthy too. One could get a small diesel tractor for that. You are correct, not much price difference between f150, f250, and f350 trucks. Probably around $2000 adder per step.

Reminds me of my last rv shopping trip. Not much price difference between a 20' rv verses a 30' one. They both already have 2 axles, appliances, etc. Longer models just have a few more studs and a little more steel which doesn't add much cost.

uick update. I had my dad over to help me put up 25 sheets of OSB and do some siding on a barn extension today and I drove his truck to lunch again.

To date it has average 17.2 mpg. Its a 2011 F-150 Super Crew 4x4 Eco Boost 4X4 with the 3.73 gears. His longest trip to date is about 55 to 70 miles, retired and does not go far. Average trip is 4/5 miles each way to town so about a 8/10 miles round trip. It also has factory remote start and he said he has used it just about every day this winter for a good 10 minutes in the garage. Yes, he opens the door first, but his garage is unattached so he keeps his second opener on the kitchen counter where he can see the garage door open then start the truck. Anyway, it has right at 10,600 miles on it now.

13,500 miles on a Eco Boost with the FX4 package and 3.73 gears has turned in 18.9 mpg. Maybe 10% towing box trailers about 7,000#. Most trips 6 to 7 miles. Farthest trip was 220 miles in one day.

Just yesterday I visited with an old friend that is a big time Ford guy and he has just a year under his belt on a 2011 Eco. 16200 miles. So of course I asked him how he liked it. Said he will not buy another, no problems but his mileage has been 15-16 in town and 19-20 on the highway, not what he expected. Truck has given him no problems, just not getting anything special in the fuel mileage dept. He did speak to his dealer that he gives high praises to, and the dealer told him that what he is getting is average.

Is it a 2wd or 4wd?
