Ladder/lumber rack for tractor?

I find I often would like to carry long items on the tractor, lengthways. I go through some places barely 6 ft between trees, so can't carry longer items crossways with the bucket or carryall.

Some things are long enough to go from bucket to ROP, but often they are too short for that. The BX is too low to hang anything underneath.

Anyone got one? Photos?

I don't mind reinventing the wheel but I hate it when I reinvent the flat tire.

No doubt it depends on the design of your equipment, but I have no difficulty with my JD 870 and its FEL. The mounts for the lift arms are a bit taller than the rear of the hood, so I put a short limb or what ever is handy across the rear ends of the lift arms, where they connect to the mounts. Then rest the load on that and the bucket, raising the bucket so it's a bit higher than the front of the hood if the load won't fit along side the hood.

The pole saw goes on the "pole saw rack" - that is with the end on the bucket, and runs along the right side of the hood, with the hook on it resting on the release lever on the top of the right-side mount arm.

Ditto on the pole saw being awkward to carry. I patrol 2 miles of gravel road with my tractor and have to cut low branches frequently so I need a good way to carry one. Anybody got pics of their setups?

Although I use a trailer to carry any longer items I may need...if I were going to carry ladders, polesaws and such, I'd make brackets or hooks to fit the right side loader mast and the ROPS. You would have to devise some type of holding mechanism or use bungees so the item doesn't fall off.

Not the best, but it does work. The grapple arms hold the front of the ladder steady and the back rests on the ROPS. I put the polesaw inside the ladder.

I don't need to do this often so it works for me, but if I did, then I would add some chicks of some sort to the ROPS to hold the side to side movement.

Anybody got pics of their setups?

Here's what I use. First photo is my whole tree trimming setup, except for hooking up the chipper to send the chips into the woods. Any firewood sized logs go in the right side of the bucket.

The second is a closeup of JD's built-in pole saw rack (used to release the FEL when not being used to carry things)

While we really shouldn't carry other people on the tractor sometimes a cute helper makes things easier!
I also have short hooks on my loader masts and a flat topped sun/rain roof that runs from my loader masts back to my ROP. Long ladders ride flat on the roof, or short ones span from the bucket to roof.
