How to rig an X595 to mow in reverse

Allow me to elaborate, my son drives the tractor with me walking along side, never by himself, and the mower, for the most part, is removed. If you knew him you would understand. I would trust him before some of my friends.

Guys its really an easy, permanent fix. Just a jumper wire on the plug behind the PTO switch. No pen caps or clothes pins needed. One of the posters posted a you tube video showing how to do it.

The only reason I chose the pen cap is my tractor is still under full factory warrenty for 3 1/2 more years.I can see it now,I take my tractor in for some type of problem and dealer saying I did something to the wireing.LOL,coobie

I suspect it depends on the dealer. When I took mine in I told them I jumpered the RIO. I asked the service manager if I needed to put it back first. He said no, and didn't blame me for jumping it out.

Now if I had got yellow for a service manager I'd have been facing the 3rd degree.

You an easier fix that is warranty proof. Wrap a zip tie around the switch so it holds it in and pull it tight. On most models the switch is against the forward pedal linkage and when the pedal is used it releases the switch and shuts the deck off. That's simple no jumper wire needed.

I'm still trying to figure out how holding a switch in the up position until you push the pedal for reverse and letting go is such a problem for people to post on for a week. That's nuts, I'm sure I sound like a real jerk, and I'm not saying Carl Bert is a bad father or nothing, I was just using that as an example. Their are jut things in life we all have to live with, this simple switch is one of them.
