I like mine- 2003 NH TC30 629 Hr 9x3 when I bought it, No problems- needed fluids changed. Rugged tractor- but then everybody is partial to theirs!

They are definitely one of the major name brands. I haven't owned one, but I would not hesitate if I came across a deal.

I just purchased a 2010 T4040 w/820TL loader 250 hrs $36.5K. I'll write a review when I get it home and start using it.

I have absolutely no experience with the NH compacts, but their full-size tractors are very well made. (also, the jury is still out on the "economy" models) I've run the "blue" tractors for years, and have been very pleased with all of them.
From 2003 until the end of 2010, my big tractor was a NH 7610S. 100hp, MFWD with a FEL. Bought it used for $22,500. Put over 1000 hours on it and sold it for $18,000. The only repairs were having the radiator and starter rebuilt. It was a bull! The only reason I sold it was, after I bought the JD 5085M, I couldn't justify keeping it.
The TN70A that I have was bought new, about three years ago. It has been a great mid-size tractor. It's never been back to the dealer. Zero problems. BTW, the TN series became the T40xx series, like the T4040 that ovrszd just bought.

The only reason that I didn't buy a NH this last time, was the cab. This is my first cab tractor, and I felt like the JD cab and A/C system was better for me. Plus, the 5M series has a few features that I really wanted that were not even available on the NH.

As tcreely said, we all have our preferences. Mine are NH and JD.

I bought a New Holland TC29DA with manual trans in 2005 and I am still very pleased with it!

Before buying I looked at most of the brands in that approximate size and there was nothing as heavy duty, refined or as easy to operate.

It has a heavy flywheel and a low RPM engine that is very nice to operate. If I had it to do over I'd get the 33 HP engine just for a bit more power, but either way, I love the 3 cylinder design.

The only thing I question is the plastic fenders.

I had a 1998 New Holland 1725. I recently traded it in. It was hard to let that machine go. I had almost 3,000 hours on it and it was still solid and fired right up. I ended up with John Deere when I traded mainly because of the dealers in the area (JD is very customer oriented, the NH dealer in my town has absolutely no customer service skill). The JD also had what I was looking for in a cab where NH didn't. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a good used NH if I were in the market for one.

Leased a T8020 A year and a half ago for 3 years. It's running strong. Only problem was when we first got it was a bad expansion valve in the a/c. Other than that it has had fewer problems than the 8430 and 8230 deeres we run.
