Stupid newbie owner questions

For the OP, if it is not to late, get both of your rear remotes with the float function. Better to have it and not need it vs needing and not having. I believe that it is only a few dollars more.

Remotes are over $700 for these tractors. You buy the valve and you buy a lever assembly.

While they may be $700, how much more is it to have the float function? On about any after market valve, the float function is $30- $50 more. I am not asking or suggesting that he throw away the 3 position valve and get the 4 position, just that if there is still time before the tractor has the remotes installed to go ahead and get both valves with the float function.

I wouldn't think that it would be that big of a deal. :confused3:

The best part is when you buy the tractor new installation is free, and on a cab tractor I think the are a little bit of a pain to install. I know a 3rd function is about a all day job. I would have gotten 2 floats if I new how the valves worked, they are different than the what the Bobcat was.

I would have gotten 2 floats if I new how the valves worked, they are different than the what the Bobcat was.

I tried to get two floats on mine, but was told I could only have one. I would still ask though. Seemed like the most options down the road. BTW 94bullitt " w/ a paddle shifter and suicide doors" is just what I was thinking the other day!

Odd, the sales brochure shows a picture of a 5740 with turf tires and mmm. False advertising?

If you look at the previous years brochure that same exact picture has a L3940 with the mmm mounted. On the new brochure they photo shopped in the L5740 decal only. Look closely at the grill openings, they are too small for it to be a L5740. The L4240 and larger have a larger front axle, I think that has something to do with not being able to mount a mmm on the L4240 and larger tractors. Philip.

I think you are right the first first valve did have to be a Double acting valve. It kinda make me feel like I'm driving a Ferrari.:laughing:
