Rain-X - Am I Cursed for Life?

You can eliminate the fogging by putting it on twice and really buffing it off. Can also mist with water as the instructions suggest but that seemed like too much work to find a mister bottle

Instead of Rain-X, we use Invisible Glass that I get at Walmart in the Automotive department. We've been using the aerosol version for several years to clean vehicle windows, house windows, and my wife sometimes uses it on mirrors in the house. I think it sheds rain on the windshield at least as well as Rain-X.

I use the rain x washer fluid, and love how everything beads off the windshield. Mind you, I clean my windows inside and out regularly.

One thing I do after applying Rain-X is clean the windshield again. Not simply polish it, but glass cleaner and newspaper.

I worked in a bodyshop years ago.
had to clean overspray paint off windows, windows from junkyards that were coated in tree sap..
a great way to clean a window is with windex and a razor blade. the windex is a lubricant and cleaner and the razorblade will lift overspray, tar, tree sap...
never ever scratched a window.
start at the top and work in small areas working downward.
flip the razor blade from time to time. when it starts missing dirt... or grab a new one.
i like to final wipe with with acetone, paint reducer to remove silicon, wax.. and then clean with windex.
wiper blades can be cleaned with 90% rubbing alcohol and a cotton rag. do it monthly.
i do this on my truck every few months to remove tree sap and haze from near by chemical plant.
Wiper will do a fantastic job!!!!

I like rainX. I usually never use wipers hardly with it? I drive on country roads and usually over 50 mph so it just runs off. I have heard others say the same things but i love the stuff and ahve used it since in highschool. Not religiously but will use it when i take a notion and feel ambitious.

I've been using Rain-X for years, and have always been happy with the way it beads water off the windshield. There was a time, though, that Rain-X seemed to tear up wiper blades. But since I started using bracketless wiper blades, I haven't had that prollem anymore. Also use Rain-X windshield washer fluid.

So, another happy Rain-X user here. :)

I live near the puget sound. It is wet here, it rains all the time, it is dark and dreary and we grow moss on our backs. I love rain-X. Follow the directions and it won't leave smears, streaks, or scum. I use it on all the windows and mirrors but the windshield is the most important.

That is what I clean my windows with, been using it for years. I find the aerosol works better than the spray bottle.

Yep, I bought the spray bottle last time to try it. I've used some on the house windows, and this morning used it on the inside of the windows of my pickup. But I'll stay with the aerosol can from now on.
