Thanks Steve. My problem was I didn't realize that the sleeve came as part of the DIN radio - tells you how long it's been since I messed with any car audio stuff:eek:

Steve did you use the aluminum bracket that Kubota ships loose or just mount it in the face cover plate

Yep - used the bracket after I found it (the dealer had put it in the toolbox mounted on the left side of the tractor). Still a little shaky when on rough ground - probably need to decrease my ground speed

Not a big deal as long as you have access to a pig tail for the factory harness...The shortness of the harness is just plain torture for hard wiring, Kubota couldn't add 3" of wire?...I see that someone came out with an aftermarket pigtail...Figures that showed up after the grief I went through wiring a Kenwood to mine. Why are the factory speakers so bad?

The factory speakers are so " cheap " because they wanted to keep the price down to only twenty grand for the unit. I bought mine installed. Guess I am just terrible with electronics. Even if I wired it correctly it would vibrate out of the dash at some point. Speaker replacement is a " someday " project.

My speakers are a someday project that has yet to come after 2 years...Pretty sad they had to install paper cones to keep the price at 20 large..Guess I should be happy something is installed.

Gents,

Any speaker you put in this location is not going to sound good while operating the RTV, there is just not enough room up there to get the airspace required to reproduce any kind on lower frequencies, the Infinity co-axles I installed in mine sound great while parked but as soon as you start the RTV the noise drowns out all but the higher frequencies making and speaker sound like a tin can.
I have some small woofers from my old car audio collection that I will be installing sometime to eliminate the problem, I'm going to construct a small center console with cup holders, storage, etc. and will incorporate the woofers in it.

I have the 2014 RTV-X1100C and installed my radio. Just remove the plastic cover/plate on overhead console and all the wires are already there.
