i didnt think the filter was a throw away, it's made zactly like u sed. very well made mesh. i did clean it with deisel the first time and the second time i hadda drain the system. i sure found alot of wut looked like TP thru out it. wen i cleaned the filter n filled it with fuel while cleanin it. it drained n seeped out very slowly. behind the mesh it's fiber filled. i have no idea if it's sposta flow thru fast or slow. i simple dunno. wen i rinsed all the crud out via the filter acess, used a bottle brush n reached way in there. out *** a cuple metal particles. not shavings, tiny chunks of casting, no steel from gears tho..
Lilred,
I don't know if you got to see the links I posted. It's like line that you double click to take you to a different place in here that explains another thread. Thread is what you started with your first posting. There is a ton of pic and a lot of info that you might find useful. There is search option on top of the page, if you click on it and put in my handle JC-Jetro you'll find a whole heck of lot of info about your rig. I have done a lot of stuff on my tractor and I have detailed description and pictures to go with it. On the filter/screen thing. I found no fiber mesh inside the screen in for my tractor. I reckon it is just crud and nottin else. if you have an old shop vac you can also clean the inside of the diffy by operation vacu-suck. You can also use a transition container to suck the muck out of diffy in to a a gallon jug and shop vac it out of gallon jug, like that you can keep your shop vac clean. You can also take the cover of from the transmission and vacuum any crud in there. it is right where the shifters are.
double click on the link below to see transmission innards, where you might do some cleaning.
