Does anyone carry in one of the wallet holsters. I intend to buy a Ruger LCP 380 and I want something to carry it with that will be COMPLETELY unnoticeable. The other option is an Inside the Waistband Holster. I would like one of those but only if it was a crossdraw so it could be retrieved while driving. I know, I know, don't flame me because a wallet holster couldn't be easily retrieved driving but that is what I am looking for.

I don't want to hear how I need to carry a 45 auto or a 357 magnum either. Whatever I get must be invisible to somebody looking at me from any angle. I don't intend to become a mini-Rambo or anything like that. There is just a lot going on around here and I want to protect my family.

On a side note I talked to our mail carrier earlier this week. She told of covering for a sick postmaster in a rural community in an adjoining county. After about a week she took a twenty minute drive around the area after work to look at the fall leaves. When she pulled back into the parking lot at the small post office the pastor at the local church was waiting for her. Said he chewed her out. Said every other house was a meth house and they shot at people for no reason. We both figure that the every other house was an exageration but she said he had real fear on his face.

I don't like a wallet (I prefer the term pocket holster) holster for the simple reason I find it hard to easily retrieve the weapon. You are right in that it hides the weapon eztremely well. That said, I do use both. I use the IWB when I have a jacket I'm not removing, shirt tail out, or any circumstance that I can use it while keeping the weapon concealed. If what I'm wearing would require the weapon th be buried under clothing then I'll use the pocket holster.

When in a vehicle I usually unholster the weapon and just stick it under my leg or beside me on the seat under a paper or something, depending on the seat in what I'm driving.

I once knew a gent that had a wallet holster. For a while there till it healed up, he was walking around with 2 holes in his rear instead of one.

Well,i think you should carry a 1911 45. You don't wanna shoot a meth head with a 380 only to piss them off. Just kidding. I have seen those at gun shows and liked them. If i had a small 380, I would buy one of those wallet holsters.

I use a blackhawk! pocket holster that I picked up at walmart for about $15. It fits in the leg pocket of my cargo pants and it goes where I go. Easy access. You may also want to consider a fanny pack, I know they sound stupid but it works well.

The one that I'm talking about, you don't remove it from the holster to shoot. It has a hole for the trigger and the slide is not in the holster.

I carried a wallet holster with a .380 for several years. While in my vehicle, I had a bigger easily accessible pistol near by.

Carry concealed is a function of weapon size, holster, holster placement, clothes, and the size/shape of the person. Some of us can carry larger sized weapons because of our size and shape allows said carry. What works for one, might very well not work for someone else. Picking the right clothes helps as much as the weapon and holster.

Being able to draw in a vehicle is problematic. What works in the drivers seat might not work in the shotgun seat, pun intended, or vice versa, depending on which is your dominant side. If one practices drawing in a vehicle, unload the weapon, there is a surprising amount of stuff going on in such a scenario. You don't want to shoot your car or yourself.

A holster that does not cover the trigger is asking for trouble.

Dan

I carry a ruger LCR (5 shot .38) in a packet holster everywhere I go (have been for quite a while). The biggest advantage is that I just grab it and go. I found that for more complicated holsters I would sometimes skip carrying because I was in a hurry or didn't want to bother.

The best CC rig is the one that you will use every time. A really nice holster that takes too much work to grab will go unused.

This is a great story but wouldn't she be in for some jail time for having weapons on federal property when she returned back to the post office..??

Not saying I agree with the rules on fed property, but can postal employees carry (concealed or not)..?? ......just curious......
