The best CC rig is the one that you will use every time. A really nice holster that takes too much work to grab will go unused.

Best answer any of us have given yet in this thread.

This is a great story but wouldn't she be in for some jail time for having weapons on federal property when she returned back to the post office..??

Not saying I agree with the rules on fed property, but can postal employees carry (concealed or not)..?? ......just curious......
The story that you're quoting doesn't say she was carrying. But you are right in that you can not carry at the P.O.

She wasn't carrying she was sight seeing. Said it never occurred to her that driving around admiring the fall foliage could put her in danger. According to our CCL instructor, who is a deputy in that county, that area in the most dangerous in Western Kentucky. They have had a reputation as moonshiners in the past and now I guess they make meth.

If you are carrying concealed who will ever know? I'll take my chances. :)

Years back, a man went into a post office after hours, was robbed and shot in the head.

The murderer was caught but I don't think they tried him in Federal court. I guess he was not aware about carrying on Federal property.

You assume they have no scanners or metal detectors? Have you considered the risk to gain ratio? If you are convicted, are you aware of the penalty? It's up to you. I just hope you are aware and don't advise others to do the same.

I was unaware of that. I carry everywhere except work (I work at an elementary school) and places that have metal detectors. Our post office does not have scanners or metal detectors.

Look at the line of clothing that caters to people who carry. I have a sig jacket that has two holsters built into the jacket(looks like a carhart) and a velcro strip to keep the gun in the inside of the jacket. There are also pants shirts vests that do the same.

Some of the wallet "holsters" that can allow the gun to be fired without removing the holster may be required to be registered as "any other weapon" and would require special permit. I use a pocket holster with my LCP. It is not detectable as a gun. The square edges on mine leave the outline of a wallet. Any pocket / wallet holster really limits the access.
