hey.. i was just noticing that little danasoft box in the lower left corner of your posts.. i guess it is some dynamic ip and date viewer?

i just noticed it is not giving correct info for my hardware / software / connection..

I saw it on bullets posts and it kinda freaked me out for a sec so had to check out the website. Thought it might help civilize a couple of the political threads I dont think it works if you have a firewall.

If you use a VPN tunnel, you can hide your real IP address.

I wouldn't put an IP address up in plain view. I've had scammers call me on the phone and tell me my computer is sending viruses out on the net. There number is 510-943-3040 but it might have changed. Anyway I knew it was a scam so I let them waste about 15 minutes trying to get me to let them into my computer and then I asked them what my IP address was since they knew I was sending out viruses. Click, they were gone!

I believe(but have no way of checking) that it shows a different ip address and info for each viewer, ie their own. From the blurb I read (and didnt really understand) it is a just a widget that shows something that is being read already??

you are correct.. for most users, it would display their info.. assuming that it CAN read it.. as mentioned..t ere are plenty of things that obfuscate that info.

And things like AdBlock Plus or NoScript that will block it too...
