Where can I find what year my Mahindra 2615 was made?

The date being incorporated into the serial number didn't happen until about 2005 IIRC. And it didn't happen to all models. That would make too much sense.
No, I just did the search back in the archives and found what I was looking for - The letter in the serial number designates what year it was made, at least on the 4110's. My serial number is 411 U03 0043. The U designates 2001 and if I remember correctly the 03 designates March. The 0043 is the actual production number. A "V" would be 2002, "W" would be 2003 and so on. I don't know what they did after "Z" or whether the other Mahindra models follow this method. This is similar to automotive VIN numbering so I would guess they might start back at "A" or perhaps go to a number designation for that particular digit in the serial number.
The 10 series was the only one to use that s/n scheme, and only on the early 10 series. I wish they would implement a standard decode-able s/n method across all manufacturing plants, but so far that has not happened. That doesn't mean we can't figure out the year built, but it does make it harder.
You can do that with some of the loaders...![]()
