Two problems with that statement:
1. Very few full auto guns available and you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get one. 99.9999% of the "assault weapons" out there are semi-auto, not full auto
2. What if you are going after a pack of 10 coyotes? 3 shots each with them running around wouldn't be out of the realm of possbility would it?

Aaron, as to full auto, the media and certainly hollywood would suggest otherwise. Maybe that proves your point.
As to the pack of attacking coyotes, well, ok. If I were a rancher or farmer out West, yes, I can see why I might want to carry some serious protection.
But please, no arguments for zombie defense... though I bet some victims of home break-ins must have thought the zombies from **** had arrived.

You are telling me what you believe is wrong with others, not your vision of a perfect world. I am still waiting to hear your vision and an explanation of its benefits.

No, what I told you is how what is "wrong with others" (IMO) has made the world a worse place than it was...

Honestly I don't waste my time trying to envision something that does not exist or never will...however the benefits of an "improved" world with start with things like the end of disease, hunger/poverty etc. etc...one of the main reasons a "perfect world" will never be is because there is no way to eliminate greed (without eliminating humans altogether)...

Now..."If I were king"...there'd be some changes made...!

For starters...one of the first things would be getting rid of things like the ACLU...I would turn prisons (back) into a place (so horrible) that once a person got a taste of would never do anything again that would send them back...

That's a pretty broad brush you are using. I think we have to stop blaming someone else and work harder ourselves to live in a manner that sets a good example for those subsequent generations.

Those of us that were instilled with the aforementioned values do so...citing observations is not "placing blame" per se...

So we have to tolerate many different lifestyles in this "civilization" that we now enjoy, particularly if we value personal freedom.

IMO tolerating street gang "lifestyles" is hardly what I would call civilized especially when innocent personal freedoms are compromised by said lifestyles etc...

I'm hoping the best is yet to come.

Good luck with that...I will be more hopeful when they again start allowing prayer in schools...
While also making sure our government is not the biggest predator of all in restricting our freedoms. Plenty examples of that around the world. Live free or die is not just confined to New England...
IMO this is an over the top example of the absurd...considering the political biases that infest the New England states...like you said "the world is rapidly changing..." and it has changed more in NE since that slogan actually meant something...

You mean "If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth" ala Lenin or Goebbels? Pretty much. My mother in law was going off the other day on how nobocy needed a full auto weapon and was quite surprised to find that what the media calls an "assault rifle" is a semi-automatic weapon, not a full-auto one.
As to the pack of attacking coyotes, well, ok. If I were a rancher or farmer out West, yes, I can see why I might want to carry some serious protection.
Another use for many on here in the south is feral hogs. They run in packs and a semi-auto weapon is highly recommended if you want to actually get more than one at a time.
But please, no arguments for zombie defense... though I bet some victims of home break-ins must have thought the zombies from **** had arrived.
From what I understand, zombies are better taken out with large caliber automatic weapons as small caliber bullets dont have enough knockdown power :D

Well, we agree on prisons. They seem to be run by inmate gangs now, if TV is to be at all believed.

The ACLU, not so much. They defend some pretty unpopular cases, but I think the ACLU has done more to keep our constitutional rights off the slippery slope than any other group. They are also staunch defenders of voter rights. When Florida cannot certify the results of a general election until two weeks after the polls closed, and people wait in line for many hours to vote, there is work to be done there that is important to all.

Hmmm. Thanks I think.
over the top example of the absurd.
I thought only elected politicians did that...

I would not be in favor of limiting newspapers their first amendment rights either. You see I think they should have limited themselves, just like the fire in the theater thing.. you just don't do that, because it could have bad consequences, no matter if you could get away with it under the first amendment or not. In my heart of hearts. true belief here, I think they did it because they hate guns, and wanted the gun owners to be ostracized by their non gun owning neighbors. They never thought of the other possible bad unintended consequences, like the theft angle, or the now know easy targets of the non gun owning neighbors. or the publishing of the names of gun owners (lets say divorced woman with a gun permit now) who was hiding from her violent ex. You might say, well he could have found out anyway, as this is all public knowledge.. sure, but now it may be poked in front of his face.. Sometimes just best to let sleeping puppy lie there, and not poke him. What if violent ex hubby goes over there and she shoots him. Justified or not, now you have a dead guy. There are a lot of things that "could happen", but I feel their intent was not good, not reasoned out and was not nice. Now that the the names and photographs and addresses and phone numbers of the perpetrators of this "un-niceness or thoughtless act" are out there, they are starting to feel some heat. Perhaps it will serve as a warning to others to not do this type of thing, not because they can't but because they shouldn't. I hope so.

I wonder how closely this newspaper covered the Fast and Furious scandal with the ATF? Or Bengazi? Or any number of issues that should be considered scandals that have surfaced during the Obama regime but were covered up or ignored by the media?

?

As noted earlier, this information is already out there

While I haven't read this entire thread. I had to stop here because this just isn't true. News paper here tried to do that. The Sheriff denied the paper that info.& if the paper thought it should be made public to take him to court & let a judge tell him it's public
