What kind of PU tires should I get?

Well I installed firestone destination AT 275 55 20 on my Lincoln lt yesterday. I put some 400 km today. so far so good. They spin in 2wd on packed snow under light acceleration even with the box loaded. They were quiet on the highway, pretty stiff for a p rated tire. Paid $890 including tax from tires plus grand forks ND,

Kelly and Cooper are still made in USA
I will not ever own Firestone or Bridgestone again after 4 Bridgestone tires all went out of round at the same time on a new Subaru and Bridgestone would not honor the warranty. Just my opinion, but they are also the brands that failed and caused many roll overs.

That roll over thing was a spat between ford and firestone and it was BS from the past. My ranger originally came with firestone firehawks they were as hard as a rock. When they spun on hot ashphalt they wouldn't even squeal. Traction was poor, but that was in 1996. I'm sure they've gotten better. They have great reviews on tirerack.

I had 2 sets of Bridgestone Revo AT's on my last Chevy. Very pleased.

Great tires.....have them on chevy 2500 4x4......good on highway and offroad.

I'm running retreads on my work truck. The tread looks like BFG all terrains and they used a BFG all terrain carcus. Can't really tell the difference and a lot cheaper. Just a suggestion if you want to save a few hundred.

you don't see treads here in canada except for highway rigs. I think they aren't legal here.

My dad put Cooper Discover AT3 on his 2500HD, I put them on my daughter's 1500. Seem to ride nice, good traction, reasonably quiet.

Don't know about canada but I don't think you can use them for commerical use on steer axles.


Anyway, they are good for the environment and all us government vehicles run retreads. They are doing ok on mine.

That sounds like the same laws as here in Canada. Are you allowed to run them on a private half ton front or rear?
