cross valve problems

All return hose should be going to tank.

If the valve has an operating PB port, it has to be connected in series for flow downstream to the 3pt.

If you block PB, you could damage the hyd system.

Ok so i checked filter screen it is ok. Then i removed all hoses feeding the loader (4 hoses) still nothing but then i bumped boom up and down lever and the 3 point started to raise a touch jerky when going up but up. Could it be a block in the valve that cleared up? Could the jerking be because of the pb hose going back to hyd block. I would think that the pb would be for a aux valve instead of going back to block

When operating the loader, the 3pt lever should be in neutral.

If it is in the up position, the 3pt would be raised and the fluid is passing over the relief valve, and causing the loader valve to act strange.

By locking the 3pt on, you have pressurized the entire path from pump to the 3pt.

Set the 3pt to neutral or about the middle of the lever range.

If you had a gage, you could see the pressure developed by the hyd's

Since you have not blown anything yet, the fluid from the pump must be going to tank.

The fluid in an open center system should flow in a series path.

The path should be something like this. Pump to hyd block, from hyd block to loader valve, PB from loader back to hyd block, then from hyd block to 3pt. The return line from the hyd block should go to tank.

The PB going back to the hyd block, can be used for a remote valve which would be placed between the hyd block and the 3pt.

Did you do the plumbing ?

No I just bought it online thats why im asking. My other tractor had a block with 3 outlets on the block but only 2 were being used and the other plugged. The loader valve had a hose from hyd block to valve and a hose from valve to hyd block the pb port was plugged. The plumbing is real sloppy on this one and i want to redo it to my satisfaction. I admit im just having a hard time understanding why i cant just remove the pb hose and have the 3point work as normal. Seems to me if i plugged all ports on hyd block the system would be like day one then take a hose to loader valve then return line back to block.

What you need is a good manual with a hyd schematic.

The dealer for your tractor should have the data you need.

Here are a couple of pics of my hyd block. Why dont the 3rd hole go all the way thru? I know theres a reason what is it hyd 001.jpghyd 003.jpghyd 002.jpg

It could just be a passage way for the fluid to flow from and to a certain point.

If you look a little closer you can see the hole that doesn't go stright thru, it's also drilled from the side and goes out the fitting that is on it. Blow air back thru that fitting and see where it comes out. I would guess it feeds the 3pt and the other one is for rear hyd.

This is a probably scenario.

The hyd ump probably feeds the hyd block, and with no loader installed, the fluid from the hyd block is directed to the 3pt.

Now, you install a loader, and you have to power the loader first, so the PB fluid from the hyd block is now redirected, going through the loader valve, and the return port fluid is going to a tank line, and the PB out from the loader valve goes back to the hyd block so it can feed a remote valve and the 3pt.
