Watcha eating?

Two boiled hot dogs. Funny story on Yahoo news the other day about the best breakfast in the world... $100 dollars for them. I love a Philippine breakfast with a bed of garlic, onion fried rice with two fried eggs on top... about 15 cents.

Best food in the world besides a Chiefs mess on Navy ships and boats... International food court at the Mall of Asia in Pasay Manila. Cheap foods are the best!

Whenever I hear or read the word Pheasant, I always think of the mini series Shogun. There was the story line of the European hanging a Pheasant to age but the smell dishonored the house and one of the servants removed the bird. When the European asked about the bird, it was hung back up, and he ordered that nobody was to touch the bird. The bird was still a dishonor so one of the servants removed the bird, but because he violated orders, he was executed.

How is that for an odd memory.:laughing::laughing:

Dan

Seeing I missed the corned beef Sunday for St. Pat. That's what I'm making tonight but that chicken cacciatore sounds good. If I think of it as I'm eating cabbage I'll CRY.

I cut a ham into strips the size of french fries, coated them in a tempura batter, fried them in coconut oil, and glazed them in Head Country BBQ sauce. We also did baked potato casserole and asparagus gently fried in bacon fat then rolled in Parmesan cheese. Black box merlot red wine to wash it down. I could only hope that I can get this for my last meal.

I'm thinking we will need to see the recepie for that chicken cacciatore. You know the old TBN motto..."If you don't see the recipie, it didn't happen...".

ANYONE IN FAVOR OF A TBN COOKBOOK? Tried and true family recipes from the member's family cook book (ok, mostly scraps of paper and old note cards with stained recipes on them). I have 3 or 4 I could contribute; a couple I have already posted. Just a thought... ?????

Good idea 2LandCruzer

Brainstorming for the cookbook: Please add your ideas.
1. Start a separate thread labeled TBN COOKBOOK
2. Let's agree on the categories like main dishes, breads, deserts, side dish, etc... Start your post with the category.
3. If it is "special" add a note at the end. for example gluten free, low fat no cholesterol, diabetic friendly, heart attack food :)D) etc......
4. If it has a history add that at the beginning, - This recipe has been passed down for three generations........

Sam5507, That is what I was wondering about, the order. How do we keep the recipes in the right order? I was thinking that each person would have to cut and past the recipe that looked good to them into a separate document for their own ever expanding TBN COOKBOOK.

OH another Idea - Pictures (or a link to a youtube of the dish being prepared) we need a visual on what the final product should look like. Maybe if you don't currently have a picture just add - "Picture available soon" and you, or one of us can add one later. Later just add a post like - "This is a picture for the recipe of ribs on post #123".

Then we will copy that picture to our own personal TBN COOKBOOK.

OR- Can the moderators arrange the order and put the recipes under the correct category????

Any TBN cook books must include wok recipes using a tractor pulled "disk" for a wok. New disk sections can be purchased at any tractor supply store.

That is an excellent idea!

WHY did it take so long for someone to HAVE this idea?:laughing::laughing: TBNers are always talking food ya would think some one would have had this idea before. TXDon's idea of a thread with recipes is brilliant. TBN is ancient in computer years, why in the heck did we not do this a long time ago?:D:D:D

Better late than never I suppose.:laughing::laughing:

Later,
Dan
