Finish Mowing with a 2520?

I love mowing with my 2520.

I have a little over an acre, and I mow it every week in less than two hours. Granted, I have truf tires, flat ground, and sandy soil, so I'm in a best case scenario, but I don't even come close to having an issue. Actually, I'm thinking about swithcing to R4's cuz I'd like to get more aggressive and I'm that comfortable with how my tractor treats the lawn.

I say go for it. Buying a second tractor just to mow seems like overkill.

So, the pull behind finish mower works better? As in, it leaves a better looking cut, scalps less, follows contours better?
I kinda like the idea of the rear mower becuase then I don't have to put the belly mower under the tractor and be so careful with it under there. I can hook I-match up to rear mower and remove it in minutes.

I wonder how they work for trimming and maneuverability? I'm afraid i'd get sick of looking behind me all the time....
Thanks for the input guys, I'd LOVE to mow with my 2520! :)

That has been my experience, your mileage may vary. And I agree wholeheartedly that it is easier to change out the rear mower than the MMM, although they've made the 62D about as easy as you could ask for in a MMM. If you have a backhoe, changing over is faster because you don't have the MMM brackets to remove.

As for maneuvering, you just get used to it and there are also some advantages, like being able to back right up to, and under, things with the mower for trimming. After awhile, you get to where you don't have to watch behind you all that much, just when operating in tight quarters, etc. One down side is that it takes more space to park and more space to store the rear mower when it's off the machine.

I have a 3,800 Square foot garage it sits in, so storage isn't a huge deal! :)

I can trim GREAT with my 5 foot rear flail mower, so I could see trimming with a rear finish mower could be easy also. I'm really liking the thought of running the 2520 to mow, because I LOVE the tractor and hate to buy a smaller unit to mow with if this thing can do it all! :)
I know the drive over deck looks super simple, but it just seems wrong in my eyes! lol I'm sure its fine tho!

If you got a flat area to remove it, or never need to take it off, I'd get a 72" MMM. Less trips over the lawn. I never have trouble getting around with mine. I mow about 10 acres with it each mowing on 4 farms. The 62D is a nice option, but you still have to make all the connections after driving over it.

So when the mow deck is under the tractor, can you still use the 3 point arms for attachments, or does the mow deck use the 3 point lever to control its raising and lowering? Sorry, I just never used one under the belly?
I'd hate to have to remove the mow deck everytime I wanted to grade my driveway, flail mow my field, or till my garden.....
Thanks for info!

How hard is it to remove/install the mow deck?

I do a fair amount of crawling around in the woods with my tractor, and would hate to damage the deck on a stump or a log, so I would likely be removing it often.

I'm not familiar with the 2210, but on the 2305 I can lock the MMM in the up position using the height control. That permits me to use the 3 point hitch.
