I have the identical issue, It looks the exact as your pictures. It happened when using my John Deere rear mower IN MY YARD < 100 hours. I always loved JD but they way this is being handled is absurd and wrong, when I wen to the dealer, Maple Mountain, I was told they had 2 others with same issue, they offered no discount or assistance in anyway other than saying approximately 6000.00 to repair. I removed the broken parts and only use the lower PTO. If there is anything I can do to help press the issue let me know.
Anyone know how the 1026r PTO compares to the 2305?
The external case is obviosly a complete redesign. Not sure of the inside. I do know the new 1 series transaxle/pto case is no longer air cooled but is now oil cooled, which tells me they went to a thicker case maybe. They do know there's an issue and have no intention of issuing any kind of recall. Just hoping my 2210 holds up till I can upgrade to a 1 series in a few years.
Why not go to the 2 series instead? Pretty much the same money.
I'm sure there are benefits to the 2 series, larger wheels and tires for one. I wish to remain with the smaller 2210/2305/1023 type because of the HDAP tire option which I feel is the perfect tire for my multipurpose needs at this time. Also, the 2320 has no more power and the 2 series have a weekness in the rear final drive. What I'd really like is a 3320 cab tractor but have no building suitable to shelter it, nor the funds to aquire them.
