I wonder how much damage I did. I filled my F450 up this morning with about half a tank of gasoline. It seemed to be acting funny, I drove it about 50 miles pulling my 17k lb trailer. It was due for service anyway so I dropped the oil and was changing the fuel filters when I figured out what I did. Checked my fuel receipt and sure enough it was gasoline. Pumped out close to 30 gallons of fuel. Filled it back up with diesel and drove home. I don't know, it felt low on power put it could be the temp here today too. I guess we'll see.

Got my fingers crossed buddy.

I've heard of others doing the same with no ill effects afterwards.

My daughter did it on my honda but put Diesel in gas. It took about 5 changes but didn't hurt it, Don't know about the other way around good luck.

That had to be a bad feeling. Hopefully it didn't cause any injector issues and just cleaned the system out REAL good. Best of luck and you may want to check with some of the guys on the diesel forums for some more thoughts.

That sure sucks. I think that as long as there was a mixture of gas and diesel going through the injectors not straight gas it should be ok.
I always worry about putting the wrong one in the truck. I tripple check before I start pumping.

I started reading that and said "Gas? Doesn't he have a diesel?" Then I kept reading... Bummer But then maybe you won't need it much longer if you get the job at the dealer you were talking about the other day.

We would cut diesel with gas in real cold weather if it was not winter blend.

I think it will depend on how much... 50/50 is quite a bit and it has been hot here too.

The kubota dealer had a new tractor torn down... guy let his brother use it and they filled it with gas... the damage was significant because the motor seized...

I know plenty of folks that put diesel instead of gas and none had lasting problems...

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah I'm hoping the computer controls cut back the timing and power enough to keep it from hurting itself, but I think I'm being very optimistic.

If you didn't notice that the truck was running significantly hotter... 'cause that's what happens - loss of lubrication and air/fuel ratio messed up - leads to hot tamales for pistons! But, if you've got a EGT meter and the temps weren't unusual or the H20 was good -- you might be just fine.
