Where do you park it?

In the 18th century, all the land around here belonged to the aristocrat living in the manor at the other end of the island facing my windows, le conte de NAJAC. The main farm house was built towards the end of the 18th. The successive farmers built the various outbuildings, starting with the barn for their crops at the beginning of the 19th c and when they grew richer, stables for two horses. The landlord was an excentric who used to ride around on camel back. Until the poor animal caught a fatal pneumonia crossing the ford from the island in winter.

Poor camel ... :( Fascinating story about the buildings, thank you!

we park our tractors in the pasture beside the house.

We park it in the garage. It is a new garage, and I made the doors 8 feet high so the ROPS with not HIT the overhead when I drive in!

My tractor is a BX 25, and I used to always hit the overhead bar when I drove it into my 10' x 20' plastic garage, simply because I forgot to put the ROPS down!

As don't have a garage, I park mine under the back porch (its about 7' above ground level) and cover with a tarp...will get a garage soon, hopefully!

That looks great! Very functional use of space. Is the tractor end open? Can't tell from the pictures.

Thanks. Two 8' rolling barn doors on front and two 6' rolling doors on end. The BX can be driven in either way. Have a wood stove in the work shop half a electric hoist in the barn half for heavy work or to hang deer for butchering.

Here is its new home. 58' X 24' with 8' X 9' roll up door. Pine siding is under the tarp on the right, fresh off the mill.

Inside! It kills me knowing my tractor sat outside at the dealership for 5 months before I bought it. :(

I'll bet that roof-top air on your tractor runs all the time without a cab.

That is an "optical delusion". :D

The very least you need is a good tarp . The more stuff is left out the quicker it deteriorates . If you havent purchased your tractor yet might i suggest going FARMALL for dependability and strength. Good luck in your decision . Remember dont farm part of the way FARMALL the way.

I've always kept the tractor in the garage, along with the finishing mower, chipper and ballast box. The rotary cutter was stored in a shed outback. That was at our place in PA.
Now that we're in Vermont in a rental home, everything is outside...which sucks.
However, barring unforeseen circumstances, we'll be in our new home in 4-6 weeks and the tractor and implements will again be stored inside...except for the cutter...sold that before we moved.

Well, took longer then 4-6 weeks, but the Deere is in a garage with all the implements (except for the ballast box which is in the bed of my truck...need to get some sand).
Pictures will come later...

It's good to hear from Roy again. Looks like he's settled down a bit now.
