I would like to just clip seed heads and the very tops of larger fescue clumps. I need my max height to be about 4 or so inches higher. I have been all over the mechanical make up of my older model Bushhog 2615 batwing mower. As far as I can tell, there is nothing on the mower itself that will get any more height than what the tractor's drawbar height will allow. I can go lower than the drawbar, but not higher.

Is there a safe modification that can be done to get a bit more out of the deal? I don't dare use a 3-pt draw bar with this tractor. The lever is a bit touchy and it is too easy to raise the 3pt above the PTO.

There are tractor drawbars available with a offset built into the hitch end. One of those would give you more lift and be safe also. Ken Sweet

Why not use the stupid little cuff things that limit the lift cylinders from retracting all the way? Or is that not tall enough?

Thanks all. An offset drawbar sounds like what I need. I wonder if I could weld up something myself just to attach to existing drawbar.

Stroke control segments are nice. I have a slow cylinder leak and I depend on them to keep from scalping as the cylinder retracts. Fully extended, I am only as tall as the draw bar.
