Under that cover, start playing with the DIG control...same as arc force.

SA, I think mine was produced before Lincoln got the Red paint. I was told mine is called a "blue face" by an SA 200 guru...parts of short hood and long hood together during the transition. Got to get it running again though. Just sitting, begging for new skin, but I need a little more $$ to get it up to speed. I want to rewire it, and clean it up before I respray it. (rewire after spray, but you get the picture). Got any extra free skin laying around for a semi long hood??

Mark, that's right yours is a 1959? Transition between the short hoods, and Red Face.
No sheet metal worth having. A buddy of mine took the last hood I had that was any good for his 1962 Red Face. Used doors are real hard to find, guys in Oklahoma City can make them.

It's a 58 I was told.

My recently passed friend who was in the small engine business told me to run only 89 or better octane in these things and keep Stabil in the tank. It seems to have worked. Before I was getting a really hot running engine on my Ranger.

58 was the first year for the long hoods(black face) but I don't think the actual red face came until 1960. Same machine but interestingly enough I think around 1970/71 they went back to a black face plate for the same machine. Some of the very early Red faces also had a blue tint around the current controls. I have a Canadian built Red face that is apparently a 1961 but it has a different face plate from the US built machines. It's like the red and blue tint but all red where the blue would be. I read that the blue tint machines may have been made for a large purchaser of SA 200's. Maybe someone like Chicago Bridge & Iron who built a lot of water towers and tanks all over N. America. I'm sure there were lots of big purchasers of SA 200's back in the day. You can get aftermarket doors and hoods and I think even the front panels. If I recall, the old doors had 3 hinges and the new ones only 2. I think they're available in stainless as well.
