My B21 doesn't like ULSD fuel

I used to hear about guys dumping a quart of ATF in their trucks tank before fill up. Does nobody do that anymore? I thought for sure it would have been in the test.

Are you sure it was Automatic Transmission Fluid? That's downright weird!

I promise! Red ATF fluid!

I don't know what reasoning behind ATF instead of oil was but I used to hear about it a lot.

I have been using Stanadyne Lubricity Formula since day one in my BX24. ULSD fuel is low on sulfur which is a lubricate. Injector pumps need lubrication. I also use it in my truck's Cummings engine too.

IDK if you read the thread I referenced earlier, but the Stanadyne Lubricity Formula comes out right next to two cycle outboard oil both in effectiveness and cost. It's actually a little cheaper than the two cycle oil:

7)Super Tech Outboard 2-cycle TC-W3 engine oil
Unconventional (Not ULSD compliant, may damage 2007 or newer systems)
HFRR 474, 162 micron improvement
200:1 ratio
16.64 oz/tank
$1.09/tank

8)Stanadyne Lubricity Formula
Lubricity Only
demulsifier, 5% bio-diesel compatible, alcohol free
HFRR 479, 157 micron improvement
1000:1 ratio
3.32 oz/tank
$1.00/tank

Red ATF? I would really fear it looking like off road diesel if they ever tested your tank. IDK about any advantages but the $5000 fine would not make it worthwhile for me.

Why no red dye? I only run off road through my tractor. It isn't a licensed vehicle...

The guys we were talking about were running red ATF in trucks.

We didn't put the ATF in the fuel tanks. We would put a quart of ATF in the fuel filters when we changed the oil and all filters. The idea was that the ATF would burn off any carbon that had built up on the injectors. It could have been an old wifes tell, but it "felt" like the engine ran a little better.:p

Don't want to start a additive war. There are plenty on Diesel sites. I just know Lubricity works for me. :D

No, my intent was to show that your choice compares well.
