We've used the same thing at Red Lobster. My favorite is the Admiral's Feast. Sometimes I've eaten it all and sometimes I bring enough home for my lunch or supper the next day.

"I use coupons to Taco Bell and Burger King all the time on my dates", said the 50 year old single man. ;-)

And there, in a nutshell, is probably the reason for her success. We have so many pizza places now that I don't see how they can all stay in business; both big chain stores and individual mom & pop operations.

You are exactly right. The pizza place on the main road that was in front of the "new" pizza place had bad service. The owner was hiring people who could not speak English and they kept messing up our orders. I got fed up with it when a Spanish speaker tried to lecture me on how to order a ^&*() pizza. From that point on we went to the Pizza Hut were we got good food and good service. Then the great pizza place opened, Dominos reopened PapaJohns opened and Pizza Hut closed which was a surprise. They were far better than Dominos and the other private pizza place.

The "new" place has great food and service.

Dan

Embarrassed to use a coupon in front of my wife? Hardly. She'd be proud of me...she's a big time coupon'er...mostly at the supermarket (we don't eat out much).

Now, if I were single and dating, that would be a different matter altogether. I don't ever remember using a coupon on a date back in my single days (man, was that a long time ago).

The city meal tax has just about stopped our eating out. Even the tour buses no longer stop in our town. County meal tax is now starting to run a close second place. Yep, we use coupons as ofter as we can. Being on a fixed income... every dollar counts.

Wifey is big on coupons but I don't mess with them, just too much hassle. Last time we went to Red Lobster the bill was $50! Didn't have any coupons. Bill seemed high so asked the waitress to see the menu again. Thought what we had ordered was $8 but upon further inspection it was $18. Eyes just aren't what they used to be. :)

Can you get anything other than a glass of tea for $8 at Red Lobster? :)

Same here we have a local place, ordering a large pizza and thier form of bread appitizers will cost us close to $30 carryout!!!!! I like papajohns there like $10 out the door, Pizzahut is $8 i think and little ceazers is not bad esp for $5 or $8 for the meat.

I love pizza.. just can't eat it much anymore.. and when i do.. has to be vegi.. etc. can't do the faty meats.. etc.

all that said. over the years I tried all the local fast- joints.

I think for taste / price. it's hard to beat lil ceasears 5$ large 1 topping.

one the rare occasion I will have it ( 1/ every couple months ).. I go for mushroom.

My Mrs.. is the same way...one time we were in Office Depot buying a printer and I asked the sales clerk if he would take xxx amount...I don't remember how much less but it was a good 25% less...he said.." let me check " he came back and said .." We can't take that exactly but we can take say 20% off and give you a coupon for the other 5% ...so ...you will never know if you don't ask....best not to be shy about bargaining...Yes even in Macy's etc.

I always ask if there's a quantity discount when buying lottery tickets. All I ever get is dirty looks.

My wife's shop used to be next to a pizza shop. It had so many owners over 20 years that we started avoiding the new folks because we knew they were losing their butts. Nobody ever made a dime, and the franchise folks kept selling to new victims.

Will definitely use a coupon, ask for senior discount, use my frequent diner card, whatever. One restaurant publishes a coupon in a local paper magazine, I figure it's likely an advertising expense. This is about the only type of coupon I use though, years ago my wife wanted to grocery shop with coupons. What a fiasco, I told her she could take me with her or the coupons, but not both.
