Since statistics show it will be a friend or most likely relative that will kill you, best to be armed at all times.

As far as the "'tard" label, can we ever get away from this PC stuff? I'm sure ANYTHING said can be offensive to someone. I think folks should "get over it"! :2cents:

I don't know about the rest of you but just because I try being prepared for something doesn't mean I wish or think it's going to happen. I have plenty of food stored up just in case. But that doesn't mean I expect a natural disaster that will shut down the county or state for weeks or even a month. But in 1998 New England and Quebec got hit with an unusual ice storm that lasted for days. The damage to power lines left some people without power for more than a month. While people can power their houses with a portable generator most grocery stores have limited capabilities. Between that and limited transportation food can get scarce quick. Unlikely has a way of happening. The prepared always fair much better when it does.

OK, lemme see...

Funny...nope, terrible that those women were not educated how to hold and fire a shotgun. Thus, they were unnecessarily injured and likely now afraid to use the simplest and most effective self defence weapon available to them. Likely each situation was set up by a male and designed to embarrass, redicule and hold power over the woman.....rather than empower and educate them in proper firearm technique and confidence in self defence capability.

The slams at Bidden....cheap shots and misdirected...a properly sized shotgun in appropriate gauge and load for the body mass of the shooter is actually a great self defence weapon.

Refer to Newbury's post. He did the right thing educating his wife to shoot a shotgun.
I gotta disagree with ya on one thing, that video was funny, apparently no one was killed or seriously injured and hopefully they learned something. Other than that yours is the best post I've seen in this thread.

I avoid it because it seems to wound folks who are slow and have been called "retarded" and it wounds their relatives. If they were taking a drug that makes them slow, I'd say lets light right into them. But if a person is born a certain way, I say tread lightly.

Been into guns all my life, have lots, was issued an M-16. Way past being impressed with cosmetics and hype and idiots who shoot out the window in situations or think the rack of a pump sound has magical powers.

There was a home invasion thing just down the road not long ago. My wife and 3 year old actually passed the perp on the road, on the way to work and day care, at 6:15 AM. Cops never did find him, although I had them interview the wife on the phone.

Gotcher "assault" thingies including mini-30 and some of much higher quality, scatterguns in all the popular flavors, revolvers, and automatic pistols. But it's a pump 12 for me, Mossberg tactical with the 8 round mag and 00 buck all down the tube. Short, stable, reliable, wife can handle and knows what she's doing. For a sidearm my first choice would be the GP-100 'cause I like wheelguns and can hit anything with it at the range, but it won't be at the range, and the gun you don't have on you is useless. Hence Glock 27 to fight my way back to the pump. Tried 'em all and that's what I came up with.

.

:confused3: Hey I didn't say there was anything "Magic" about that sound just that many times that is all it takes ,which I know for a fact. And you can't make that sound, magic or not ,without having said shotgun in your hands. Next step is to have ammo in it and be willing and able to shoot the invader once you are sure of who or what the target is. No harm done if you "Sound" some innocent that got into the wrong house by accident but actually shoot the wrong relative or the daughters boyfriend and you have a problem.
