Grand L 3940 Cab

I didn't specify for hooks, so I'm going weld some on myself. Hopefully their parts dept has some orange paint.

So I got it home yesterday afternoon and couldn't resist getting out and brushhogging for a bit. You are right, a bit underwhelmed with its performance. When mowing up a hill or even turning sharply, with stall guard on, it nearly comes to a stop. Its going to take some getting used to for sure. I'm going to cut some more level ground today or tomorrow, I'm sure it will do better.

But, I love the tractor, and I'm sure, like you said, i'll get used to the HST+. But, if nothing changes, I still am very happy with my choice. Thanks!

Upon recommendation of other TBN members, I used these hooks: TrucknTow - Weld-On Grab Hooks (Pellican Hooks)

I got so use to using a regular HST, I don't even bother with the stall guard though some find it helpful, the dual range and auto throttle are what I use the most. Yes, it takes a while to figure out what works best for you and what is great while doing loader work won't be worth a darned while bush hogging and vice versa; overall a good system though; enjoy.

Nice! I'm gonna order me a few of those! I see where others have welded on hooks. I assume they are getting the paint to paint them from Kubota? I like the idea of having a receiver hitch on the bucket too. Just today, I needed to scoot a trailer a few feet back, had to get the truck. Anyway, thanks for the info! Also, yeah, I'll get used to the HST+ system. I really like the flexibility of it. Far superior to other brands, night and day.

Your dealer may have the hooks.

Yes, I got my Kubota paint from my dealer, but I think there are other sources.

Yes, need to check, I had the dealer weld hooks on our M8540 and they just threw some generic log chain hooks on and didn't reinforce them, some day if we have time I am going to have my son cut them off and do it right. I was surprised as I thought they would do a beter job. On our L5740, I took the hooks up along with a picture for placement.

Not to change subjects. But since paint was brought up. I have Kubota, orange rust oleum and majic tractor paint. They have a few orange shades but one says specifically "kubota orange".

I only use the actual kubota paint on the tractor itself for mishaps. Nothing on the new tractor yet. I used to use the rustoleum in the past to paint any accessories until I was turned on to Majic by a buddy of mine who does alot of accessory painting ( thanks TSO)

Now, if it comes off the tractor and used in the field it gets sprayed.

When dusk comes and its time to go in is the time you can't find a chain. Or if a linch pin comes off it can be a pain finding them. So all chain hooks and ends of chains get paint along with any field accessory.

Now in regards to bucket hooks and receivers. If I have to go a longer distance with a bigger trailer. ( like I did yesterday with his 20' extra tall enclosed trailer) no way would I be able to see around it so I hooked it to the back. ( right tool for the job kinda thing)

Now bucket hooks from what I read and was told, they should not be placed any wider than the loader arms.

Sorry for all this, just trying to share.
