Ammo

we can hope the bubble will burst some day, and hopefully soon.

People must stop buying to stock up if they don't need it.

Ain't that the truth. I wish they'd hurry up. I've got about a half box of one of those Federal Bonus Boxes of 550 rounds left. Maybe not even half. I look for some about every time I go somewhere that sells ammo, but they're always out. Ticks me off. :fiery: I bought my son a nice 22 revolver for Christmas and he hasn't been able to use it since the demand for ammo got the way it is. I'll bet it stays this way though until Obama is out of office and a new President gets in office that's not going to be threatening gun rights. I don't know, but it sure is rediculous.

Someone already mentioned ammoseek.com. It's a great resource. I give conceal classes and train with a .22 revolver and semi auto. I needed .22 ammo badly and spent over $80.00 a box. This was a couple months ago. Last time I checked, they had gone down a bunch. Ammoseek always has them listed, so they are available. I just checked again a few minutes ago. They are back up to just under $80.00 a brick. $0.14¢ a piece. It's sickening.

I helped out with the last conceal carry class earlier this year (just the shooting part, not the classroom part). The instructor is supposed to provide ammo for the handguns. He brought a .22 revolver and a semi- auto, and I brought a couple of semi-auto's and he brought a jar of scrounged junk .22 rounds. A mix of .22 short Long and Long Rifle. rounds.. the revolver would eat the shorts and longs of course so we sorted them out to try to get rounds the autoloaders would digest without stoppages.. was lots of fun..and pathetic at the same time.

I can imagine it was lots of fun. I hope it didn't ruin the students outlook on the dependability of a handgun. I know most semi autos don't like some of the cheaper .22 ammo Some just have enough oomph to get the slide all the way back.

I stopped at a Bass Pro yesterday on my way home from vacation. They had the first 22 I have seen on a shelf since January. 2 boxes of 250 CCI Shoot Em ammo. At $60 a box, they probably still have them.

Bud's gun shop. One box @ 0.07¢. 50 rounds only. Of coarse then there is shipping and sometimes tax.

Can we get .22 shorts, anymore? Someone said they are no longer available, but I wasn't sure if they were referring to .22 ammo being hard to come by, or if shorts have been completely discontinued.

.22 short are just as easy to come by as other .22 rounds:) Actually .22 shorts and the other lower powered .22 rim-fire rounds are a little easier to come by than .22LR. Aguaila Colibri (very low power rounds) are easier to come by than anything else. They still make them all, and then some. Lots of different loadings.. too many if you ask me.

I doubt they will ever stop making shorts. I just sold a CZAR that shot only .22 shorts. I would imagine there are hundreds of thousands of guns still out there that shoot only .22 short.
