As far as guns are concerned, I sure am glad I live where I do. Our county sheriff encourages everyone to have protection, and my neighbors and friends all go shooting just up the road from me. There's a big berm on the side of the BLM road about 1/2 mi up from our land. We're always hearing gunshots from up there. I go up there with my 357, too. About 2 months ago, some Russian friends from church brought up a Mosin Nagant and an SKS. Wow, we had a blast! When I'm by myself, the first 2 rounds of the 357 are loaded w/ snakeshot for rattlesnakes.

Looks like the EU has found out how bad the good ole USA has been spying on the globe. I posted SOME info a few pages back, here is a News Outlet talking about EU notions of the NSA and Obama's overstepping the rights of people and sovereign nations. This has the potential to UN-DO pretty much EVERYTHING done going back to the end of the cold war & Regan on uniting the globe...

Europe Furious, ‘Shocked’ by Report of U.S. Spying | FOX8.com

Only thing O can do now might be to ban GUNs like the UN wants to get him out of this frying pan.

They talked to FORMER (left when O came in) NSA/CIA head (Michael Hayden,) & he said it didnt happen when he was in charge but would not confirm or deny it none the less. He goes on to say the globe is not protected by our 4th amendment, which O has already said he does not abide by it & pretty much quoted Nixon "When the president does it that means it is not illegal"

BTW for anyone that may not know the 4th amendment is

Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.“

sorry hope this is not too political, it is NEWS not political in my opinion and the link above most people wont see otherwise & would like the TBN community to be informed.

I don't know where you get the 2 mile information, but a .22 will have killing force at 1 mile. A high powered rifle like a 30.06 can kill at 7 miles. You would have to shoot up in the air for the trajectory to have that type of range. If you are shooting at a woodpile 10 feet thick, I doubt an civilian weapon would penetrate that, however the threat of ricochet is always there. It sounds to me like he was shooting very safe, (not shooting up in the air, etc.). I was a sniper in Vietnam and I was hit in the leg in a Huey, by a 30cal. round. The medic said he figured it was about 6 miles away because it went in and hit the bone, then stopped. If it had been close, it might have taken a lot of the bone with it. If it had hit me in the chest it could have killed me. Most likely it was an AK-47, but we really can't say for sure.
The whole point is that he, (the original poster), sounds like a responsible gun owner, and has a problem neighbor. I had one guy like that in Peoria. He called the police because I had firewood on my property. He told them he was worried about rats. After the cop told him it was an issue for zoning and not the police, the officer came over and told me about it. We had went to school together, and he could have lost his job for telling me. After a few days I saw him out in the yard and he told me he called the city inspector on the wood. I told him the only rats around here were the 2 legged variety, The inspector, who was his father-in-law told him that it was legal to have firewood on my property.
The only thing you can do with that type of neighbor is to either wait him out and hope he moves, or call the cops when you see anything, even if you have to exaggerate like he does, when he called and said you were stealing gravel. You can say you heard loud voices from his home and you thought he was beating his wife or kids, or say that he was dumping fuel oil on the property, harass him like he does you. Guys like him are cowards and will never say anything to your face, just call whoever they can behind your back, and they don't even know why they do it. It just like some people are hard-wired to be the part of the horse facing North if the horse is facing South. :D

I also had a HOA that had came in after I had owned my land for over 20 years. The president kept coming over and griping about my horses, the noise of my machine / blacksmith shop, and just about everything he and his buds could dream up.
I told him if he kept it up, I was going to start raising pigs, and I would put them right next to the property that boarded mine, which was the HOA office and rec center. He found since I was grandfathered in I could do exactly that.
I never heard another peep from the idiot.

In my state, refusing to provide valid ID to a law enforcement officer is a crime, and they will haul you to jail and fingerprint you to establish your ID. No warrant needed, because you commit the crime right in front of the officer.

No way I am showing my ID when I am on my own property unless the reason for asking is that the officers thinks I am trespassing. In that case I'd be glad he asked.
