Makes me wonder why more people dont carry more often. Oh wait, I need to put on my Left Wing common since eliminator hat. That evil gun killed the poor defenseless animals that only wanted to practice their chewing rights. :/
Really glad someone was able to help your neighbor, I do agree that any dog can/will bite. Pits are often just meaner than other similar sized dogs and I been around a lot of different breeds myself. I have Husky-Lab mix laying on the floor now. he SOUNDS like a total bad butt but he just dont bark, he is a grumbler-growler tones but in a talkative way. At 70 lbs not real big and all love bug & that is how he was raised. As a puppy we raised him to share food, share bones and treats. In fact he will bring a rawhide chew to trade for a treat lol (he knows he will get both back anyway.)
My GF was pinned in the corner of our porch by two ST Bearnards a few years back they belonged to the house 3 down. Just luckly the neighbor between saw/heard her hollering for help. The dogs knew the neighbor and listened to them and let my GF get back inside. These people they were the typical inner city types that kept getting big breed dogs and failed to train them at all or made them just mean for fun of it. They cops ended up taking both dogs & putting them down (they were called when they came after my GF) and the 3rd incident involved a little kid out in the back ally. Luckily the kid wasn't mauled & only scratched up and terrified for a while.
To the OP you did good job, though I agree maybe something a LOT better/bigger than a .380 if there are bears around!!!
