Problems with Trespassers

He wasn't "stealing", just ripping them out. :laughing: My wife was pretty upset that her hard work had been ruined, but a couple of hours of work a couple of days later fixed it right up.

He was just drunk, stupid and mean....pretty much how he lived his life (died from a prescription drug overdose about 1 1/2 years ago).

How low can one go to steal someones plants....

People will steal anything! My dad used to have a hardware store and we used to catch folks, on almost a daily basis, stealing something. Usually we would just tack the price on at checkout: "And thats $4.99 for the tape measure in your pocket" sort of thing. No one ever complained although they usually made some lame excuse about forgetting it, but their faces got red and they always paid. Sometimes they would steal stuff when they didn't even know what it was. I have lots of stories about the strange things people would steal. The biggest thing ever was a 500 gallon steel tank of mineral spirits with a pump on top that was locked. It disappeared from behind the store on a Sunday while we were closed. It was about 3/4 full so it would have required a fairly large truck and lift to pick it up. Nobody at the shopping center saw anything of course. This might make a good new thread "What was the oddest thing you've ever had stolen."

Years ago, DOT completed a bypass around our town and at one of the overpasses they did a great job landscaping. One Saturday I was driving out to work on our land, we did not live there at the time, and I noticed a truck on the side of the road at the overpass. I was not really paying attention to the truck but just before I passed the truck I noticed there was a man and woman pulling up the just planted bushes and tossing them into the back of the truck! :shocked::shocked::shocked: I did not have a cell phone and I did not get the license number so I could not call in what was happening. I was really annoyed at the theft AND that I could not call it in. You can still see where those plants SHOULD be.

I figured in a small town I would see that truck again but I never did. Not that I could do anything about it after the fact but I thought I would see that truck...

A local Canadian tire stores had a canoe go missing from their sports display. Upon surveillance video review they saw two guys walk in the store, go directly to the canoe, pick it up, walked right out the front door, never stopped by a clerk or anything. Brazen!

Costco has some great deals on CCTV systems of increasing quality. You can get a very decent DVR/NVR, 4 cams, with lenses and cable for $800. (Not all of them are great deals, but the more modern ones are).
