John Deere 2305 Compact Tractor Transmission and rear PTO failure

I didn't see your post. I was desperate to repair my tractor after "THE INCIDENT". My JD dealer, and JD customer service, FIRMLY stated that there was not a complete transmission unit available. I would have quickly paid for a transmission to be shipped to me.

When you read the tuff torque website, they state that the PTO is an option, and it doesn't show the three point lift assembly either.

I understand that ALL manufacturers use outside assemblies to complete their finished product; however, the suppliers they choose reflect their quality, so extensive product testing and a fair warranty approach are key elements to retaining good customer base faith. My faith is gone with JD.

Does the 2320 also have the same week points as the 2305?

the 2320 is a 24 HP yanmar I beleieve. The big difference between the two tractors is wheel size, a hinged rops on the 2320 and the 2320 may have individual right and left brakes. Otherwise they appear to be the same tractor.

Go to your dealer, and ask what he would charge to gurantee your transmission against cracking from pto or 3 point stress and watch the look on his face.

Well I have just experienced the rear pto failure, using a rear tiller. I'm certain I hit a tree stump or rock, but instead of the tiller taking the punishment the pto cracked off. My 2305 was purchased in fall of 2008. I will be tearing it apart this weekend to see the extent of damage.

Could I ask... did you have a slip clutch on the pto shaft? I've had the repair done and use slip clutches on everything on the rear PTO now.

Also, your 2305 is it a 2008 or could it be a leftover from 2007.

Did a bunch of loader work moving gravel so I was on and off of the pavement and I noticed some spots on the driveway. Took it into the dealer they thought that perhaps the gasket on the rockshaft was leaking so they replaced that, only then did they notice that after cleaning up the area that the rear transaxel was leaking and had been what looked to be epoxied. SON OF A !!!!!! 2000 for the part and roughly 3000+ in labor. Not sure what to do from here. I used mine for loader work and MMM, no rear PTO impliments. Granted I bought it at a farm auction so I'm more or less screwed.
