Nobody cares about small scale pot grow operations. When you get over and acre or so, they might take notice, but back yard grows are nothing to get excited about. If they regulated sale like Washington did they would put most of the back yard growers out of business.

They sure as heck care around here. Every summer we have a tactical team running around the county in a helo, I was told that the copter costs over 2k per hour to operate. They raided my neighbor last year, a couple dozen guys in swat gear, lots of guns. They kept the copter hovering over the house for a hour, until a neighbor asked the cops to move it, it was tearing up his yard. They found that the guy had 1 plant over his limit, he was a licensed caregiver. This state spends more on prisons than the college system, we have the highest % of residents in prison in the country. 85% are in for drug crimes. I think the whole drug war thing has gone crazy.

All that law enforcement for some Pot! Now that's a waist of tax money! That is way overkill to raid some some guys growing a plant on their property. It's also not hard to raid a house containing some stoners sitting on a couch eating snacks in peace. I have a hard time even understanding the need for all that. I'm glad I live in Colorado!

Sorry, I can tell this thread has drifted from it's original topic but I still felt like replying.

Same thing around here, not sure what the cost is though. Planes and copters always flying around, checking out the woods and corn fields.

Just to sidetrack this conversation. I was filming in Hawaii back in the very late 1990's and we were working out of a regional airport on Maui. Sitting with the tower guys and our helicopter and plane take off and I am spinning my wheels. Well, in comes this really slick helicopter with blue and red. Budwieser colors. It is way nicer than the other machines. I ask ATC about whos it is and they say it s the cops and it is the helicopter they use to find illegal grow fields. I say "your cops have a **** of a budget and what about the colors" ATC says it is on loan from Budweiser.

It was at this moment I realized who really has an issue with Pot. I don't smoke it, never have, but I now fully support the legalization (and have since I found this little kernel of info out).

Guaranteed it was for more than one over his limit.. More to the story.

There was a story once about a Tennessee cop that could spot one plant in a corn field. He use to fly up and down the interstate finding weed in the meridian :)

Michigan voters passed a medical marijuana act in 2010. Unfortunately, the AG, the county sheriffs and other law enforcement hate the change.

In WA an medical card holder can legally grow up to 15 plants and 24oz on hand so even with the change in recreational use there will still be medical users growing it. also some could be selling (trading) to other card holders which is perfectly legal.

It's a bad situation to be in for sure RE the home sale. is the smell coming from an outdoor grow or indoor grow? if indoor they must have a lot of plants for the smell to be escaping the house. they could install some carbon filtering but that could be costly and not worth it to them so maybe some negotiations could be made. if outdoor grow there is not much you can do except hope that the wind is blowing in the right direction or wait until they harvest and the smell will be reduced. most plants don't really smell until they are towards the end of their grow cycle. if it's the smell of MJ burning you might recommend they use a vaporizer, this virtually eliminates all associated smell that comes from burning with fire. the thc/cbd's are still released due to the heat but not burned. from what I have read this is how true medical users consume marijuana.

good luck with your sale, I hope it all works out.

They are growing in the garage. I went and talked to them they will move them to the basement.
