You're trying to say you haven't been trying to persuade people away from Deere/Kubota and towards LS? Hahahahaha you're rediculous!

Well since this thread is so derailed and I figured some of us are tractors fans of all brands some of you would like this picture :)

That is a fantastic machine.
This thread is at least better than being forced by my wife to watch Kardashian reruns.
Here is my little guy

I decided to run some numbers. Assuming you plan on keeping your tractor for 30 years (which hopefully yours will last), you are paying less than a dollar a day more for a Deere a Kubota. For a tractor that YOU have admitted has better ergonomics, more features, and better engineering (I have never said that) it seems like an extremely small price to pay. I know where I'll be in 30 years, and I know for sure that if I'm lucky enough to still be able to be tractoring, I won't have to worry about something as small as fumbling over a brake pedal on accident that can turn into a nasty spill. (I guess I'm agile enough to be able to get off my tractor without falling like an idiot because the brake pedal is an inch wider than I'd like it. Actually, it's not even an issue getting off the machine. Sure if you plan on keeping your tractor for 30 days, it won't make much sense, but that's why they have rental companies. The price you pay for all the extra features of the premium brands is extremely minimal for those of us who use our tractors frequently and keep them for a long time.

I have also liked to see how hypocritical you are. You are nagging me for 'ducking' questions, but when arlen points out SIX out of many reasons that a Deere is superiorly designed and engineered you reply to only ONE of those reasons and cite that as the ONLY reason to spend an extra $9k on a much superior product.

Doc, if you're going to direct a post to me, at least learn to use the quote function. Also, this is an epic fail on your part. I addressed one of Arlen's points in one post, because it was a separate issue, as I said in that post. I then addressed the other points in a second post. You still haven't answered some of the most basic questions you've been asked....simple ones. Have you seen an LS in person? Have you worked on one? Do you have an engineering background, and what tractor companies have done engineering for? I won't list the others, because you're not going to answer any of them....curious.

I'm starting to believe you are understanding the price difference and why we choose the better, more economical in the long run product, but now you're just trying to protect your manhood on an inferior product.

Seriously, you're going to try baiting me with the whole "manhood" thing? That's beyond childish. I absolutely understand the price difference, and if I wanted less horsepower, less PTO horsepower, less FEL lifting capacity, etc, I would have bought a Deere or a Kubota, and paid 40-50% more for it. As I've pointed out before, I bought a second 48HP tractor with the savings...oh, and would have had enough left over to buy a RFM, and 6' rotary cutter, or a boatload of diesel. There is NO way you're numbers can compare with that.

Also, you guys talk about math, but miss the huge oversight that many people miss when overpaying for something. It's the time-value of money. I could have taken the $10K I saved, invested it in something very secure, gotten 5-6% on it, and had $50K+ (today's dollars) after 30 years....and probably still have my LS. You'd have your 30yr old Deere, and I'd go buy a nice, new 2043 Brand X and laugh at you guys who thought they knew something about value, math, and what they're getting for their dollar.

You're trying to say you haven't been trying to persuade people away from Deere/Kubota and towards LS? Hahahahaha you're rediculous!

My first two posts mentioned both LS, and Kioti models that would be a fitting comparison. I continued that throughout, and just today used the DK45SE as an apples-to-apples comparison. I think I mentioned Mahindra in there somewhere as well, but wasn't going to go back through 20 pages to check.

I am in engineering but I don't wish to discuss my work on a forum. And yes I've seen, sat and test drove an LS. 30 minutes of my life I will never be able to get back. What else do you want to know?

If a rental company were dumb enough to buy an LS I'd rent it in a second and do some real world comparisons versus it a Deere and a Kubota. For some reason rental companies won't buy them though! I wonder why...

I guess he's not ready:smiley_aafz:

You win some and loose some I guess. It's his loss!
