Drew, prayers for Nadene. My Sophie has been cancer free 7 years and I'm thankful every day.

Too bad you weren't closer, I have and extra 5 acres or so just itching for someone like you :) I can't subdivide, but the county does have a program to legally built additional farm dwelling. Of course, I'd be looking to eat from your garden LOL

Today is my wife's birthday. I surprised her this morning with sapphire and diamond pendent earrings and necklace.

Good for you!

I was widowed 11 years ago at the end of this month. She was only 44. I learned a lot through that experience, about myself and about being a good husband. Sadly, it took a great tragedy to bring wisdom and I regret so very much that I wasn't the man I am today for her.

Cherish your wife and never miss an opportunity to tell her just how much she means to you. Life can change in the blink of an eye.

After 5 years, I met a wonderful woman. We were 100 miles apart but we managed to date for 5 years and were married a little less than a year ago. We had a small ceremony in the middle of our pasture. I will always live with some regret over missed opportunities but the future looks bright and God is a God of miracles. :)

David, thank you. One day at a time.
Egbert, I just have to ask, what is your pet? Is that a dog? I feel pretty stupid for asking but I can't tell what that picture is of.
And lastly, Jinman, that was a very romantic thing for you to do.
I know that last year's gym membership didn't go over too well...:D

Is that a dog?

Oh my gosh - her feelings would be soooo hurt :) Yes, that is one of my Goldens - Maggie. She is such a sweetie. The pic is of her being quite relaxed - lol.

These are both pics of her - different poses :)

Yep, I probably should have got her a new vacuum cleaner. . . or maybe a new welder.:laughing:

I think the welder would have been best...for repairing her ancient vacuum cleaner you
refuse to replace...:D
or even better, a vacuum and a gym membership...

And Maggie, I am so sorry. You are such a beautiful girl in the second picture, but the first, well, only now do I see you are lying on your back. No, not the most lady like position but you are truly excused. Woof.

Here's her sister - Ginger. They were litter-mates and have never been separated. I love them so much. They are my second pair, having lost my previous Goldens around 15 years of age.

Her "friend" in the 2nd image is one of my other dogs - 5 total. His name is Hercules but he generally answers to Goober - lol. You'd never know but he is a Black Lab mix.

Can you tell my dogs live the life of Riley?

Today is my wife's birthday. I surprised her this morning with sapphire and diamond pendent earrings and necklace. That should keep me off her snit-list for awhile.:D I have a doctor's appt with a pulmonary specialist to get my lung capacity checked this morning and then another appt tomorrow afternoon with my surgeon since it's been three weeks since my surgery. I've found that as I get older, I spend more and more time in doctor's offices, but the good news is I'm well covered with insurance and the doctors are doing good things for me. I'm blessed to have such good medical care so close to home.

Good luck with the appointments, jinman!

And your taste in jewelry is fabulous! I think Sapphires and Diamonds look better paired together than all of the other stones. I'll bet your wife was thrilled!

Well FarmGirl, they really do. Jim sent me a private message with a picture, I thought I'd share it with you.
Can you imagine two of these for the pendants, I believe 423 carats each, boy they must sparkle.
Jinman you are the man.

Drew, the sapphires weren't that large, but my wife can wear these daily if she likes without worrying about loss or theft. They were expensive, but not rediculous.:)

BTW: I've really considered buying my wife a Segway. I think she'd like the offroad model. It would be great for running to the mailbox and going to visit the neighbors. I might just have to buy two for his-n-hers.:D
