What is kubota factory grease?

I ended up just greasing with the molly ep. There seemed to be so little grease in them in the first place I doubt I'll have an issue. (Wish I checked sooner) Why do you all like the red so much because it matches the tractor or for certain properties over others?
By red grease, I mean lithium complex. I don't care which brand of lithium complex... as long as they're the same basic type, all is well. Without going into all sorts of techno-babble, lithium complex is a good, all purpose grease for my needs on the farm. Good high temperature stability, decent water resistance, good rust prevention, pumps easily, and it's widely distributed, which means I can get it everywhere.

For an open ended system like pins in a loader, don't worry about compatibility as it is all forced out during the greasing operation AND when working. That is why you need to grease often with a good heavy grease that will stick to the pins. I use any EP grease that happens to be on sale which reminds me that I need to find some more. I am down to my last tube from the case I bought. $2 a tube is about the limit I will spend for FEL/backhoe grease as it ends up on the ground or on the loader arms from being squished out during operation.

This might seem like a dumb question, but where do you find a case of grease tubes? I've never seen, but then I've never looked for them either.

Thanks,

Deere put together a bunch of blather in their loader manual about how their extensive study shows how polyurea is so much better due to water resistance. Ok, guys, how many of us expose our loaders to heavy rain showers? I suppose if you take 'em off & leave 'em outside but still, like Murph sez - grease 'em every 10 hours!

For slow motion, high load, sleeve bearings, heavy oil, tack, and moly (dry lube supplement) are best - but these ain't walking draglines in an ore pit that work for 50 years, either. Just grease the dang things! :hissyfit:

p.s. - "stabilized" (newer) polyurea grease IS compatible with soap-base greases (lithium, calcium).

Google any grease brand, then select their link to sales outlets. Any Distributor will carry cases of 10 tubes.

I dont have anything to fit the tractor in so it does sit out in the weather. I've loaded it it up with the valvoline ford moly EP. I understand your point just to grease it but is it worth switching to the polyurea for the extra water resistance next time I need to buy more?

If you only have one tractor I think the price difference spread out over a year is so negligible it's worth it. That way you will not be wondering.

I wouldn't. Polyurea is really meant for constant exposure to water-wash environments. Think: bearings in car washes, etc. Lithium stearate & Lithium complex grease has reasonable resistance to water wash, is easier to find (more common), and since these get greased every 10 hours of use there really is no risk to rust in the bearing area of the pin/sleeve. On machines that run 24/7 that is not the case.

btw - the difference between "plain" lithium (stearate) soap thickener and lithium complex soap thickener is high temperature breakdown resistance. So for this application, it doesn't matter which type you use. But - if you were re-greasing a disc brake bearing hub, you would have to use lithium complex. So that's what i have around all the time so I don't screw up.
