I don't know about eating rats, but I would think a birthday party would be a good reason to do some drinking! Do you need a reason, Lou? :D

 Sometimes,, This is my second oldest son daughter.. she is the youngest grandchild and turn thirteen as of the fifteen of this month.. It's more little a social gathering of family members to set around and drink, eat and laugh.. Than a birthday party.. I would rather be in the cab of my tractor in the back pasture mowing grass and daydreaming.. Lou

Yellow Field

A field of yellow flowers with their tiny little seeds
Sucking up the moisture the real grass will need
A stranger to the country a beautiful field he will see
While a farmer will think about how to kill that pesky weed
Two different people both a with a dream
One will see the beauty, the other will see the weed
As a farmer has that what it痴 become?
We overlook the beauty and miss out on the fun.. Lou

Lou; Love the photo and the poem. There is a lot of truth to that poem! We do miss out, when we don't look to appreciate.

Lou, your poem reminds me of a time when my parents were showing my paternal grandfather, Oklahoma farmer, some pictures of the Rocky Mountains. Someone said they sure were pretty, and my grandfather said, "What's pretty about them? You couldn't grow a crop there if you wanted to."

Or as I said the year I lived in Colorado, "The mountains block the view!"

Just started raining here in Smith County pretty lightly. Looking at the radar, it looks like we're going to get a good, steady soak this afternoon / evening! :drink:

The sun's shining now, but I got about .52" of rain in 45 minutes (approx. 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.) And the Texas Rangers/Los Angeles Angels game started early (2 p.m.) so they could get it done before the rain arrived. And the downpour in Arlington started with the last batter. They only played in the downpour for 10 minutes or less.
