GM unveils new 6.2 1/2t specs

Regular is recommended, but to get the 420/460 numbers, you have to run premium. At least that is what the reports I have seen have shown.

Here is what the 2014 owners manual states:

Recommended Fuel
For all vehicles except those with
the 6.2L V8 engine, use regular
unleaded gasoline with a posted
octane rating of 87 or higher. If the
octane rating is less than 87, an
audible knocking noise may be
heard. If this occurs, use a gasoline
rated at 87 octane or higher as soon

Well my take on this, is since I am soon to upgrade trucks, I will be going to an '06-07 Duramax in 3/4T. I will have more torgue, more towing ability and fuel prices (in this area) about the same as 91 oct. All that, and I will pay about 1/2 the 50K the new gasser will undoubtedly cost. I already see the Ford Ecoboost in the 40-50K levels on the dealer lots. Way out of my pay class.

You can get in a New Ecoboost 4X4 Supercrew for a little over $30,000 without a bunch of bells and whistles.

Exactly. You only spend $50k on a new truck if you want to. You can get a very nice new truck in the $30-35k range.

I have only ever bought 2 or 3 of my 25 or so vehicle's off the lot. I always order and get what I want.

It seems around here they are bare bones or fully loaded.

Like said above, if you are patient you can order in 4 to 6 weeks and get the options you want at a price you can live with.

Yes. My experience is that they negotiate even more, because when you are ordering, you can go to any dealer to get the exact same vehicle. We normally order ours as well, and I can easily buy for a couple hundred bucks under invoice.
