New Wicked Grapple....Root Rake Style....Start to Finish!!!

I'd love to see a comparison video of this style grapple vs. the wicked style grapple showing what each one's strengths and weaknesses are. I do like how the bottom tines on this one extend a little further than some on the market to give it a little more carrying capacity but still keep the root rake capabilities. Are those tine teeth replaceable?

I agree, those lower teeth add carrying capacity many Rake styles do not have. They still won't carry like an L bottom, but it would help when you don't want to swap attachments. The lack of gusseting, assuming the steel is strong enough not to bend, would be helpful as well. Not as much resistance when grubbing roots.

I like the looks but really think it is a mistake to make it a single lid! Dual lids may require more engineering but would greatly increase the holding power for uneven loads!

One of the main functions of the lid on a rake grapple is back raking. I would think two lids would be problematic for that . Rake grapples are not primarily lifting grapples. They are primarily raking grapples, forward to grub out roots, backwards to rake up debris. The lid closing is kind of secondary since it can't haul much. That is how I use them anyway.

This first grapple rake is 60" wide, weighs in at 420 pounds and the lid opens 36".
In comparison, the Bradco grapple weighs 383 pounds and opens 32".

The weight is 413 according to our website and 383 is on their brochure....383 is the actual weight and 413 is shipping weight.
For comparison, 383 is the proper weight to use. You got me again!

I wish I had standardized on flat face couplers that you did many years ago instead of ags.

1/2" ag couplers are standard, or 3/8" by request. We do offer flat face as a $75 option on our Wicked Grapples, so it will be the same for the grapple rakes.

My limited experience with the flat face couplers is that they are much more difficult to connect than ag couplers. They just seem to have a lot more resistance to coupling than the ag ones do.

And they're a lot more expensive than ag couplers too.

My machines have a pressure relief system, not hard to connect at all.

With any hydraulic connector you have the internal pressure that has to be relieved, not too worried about that. Keeping the Female side of the ag connector clean always seems to be a chore . I like to have opposite connectors at each location to keep things lined up. And it seems I often drop the connectors or the dust caps themselves come apart when in operation. Then the dust caps get dirty. Flat faced connectors just seem like they would be easier to keep clean or at least wipe clean.

Yea they are a but harder to couple than ag's but it is not a deal breaker for me. I also believe they will last longer than standard ag's.

Yea they cost more, but they are a much better connector and they don't seem to have any leak or drip problems, they are also the standard connector for skid steer that my local rental place uses.

They also keep the dirt out! Now granted nothing absolutely nothing will keep all of the dirt out that is just the nature of our world but the flat face couplers will keep out way more than any other type. All you have to do is wipe them off before you use them just like others but the difference is they are flat faced without any groves or depressions to collect the dirt or any other contaminate.

This is just my opinion I like them, I want to keep ag type connectors on ag type equipment and industrial type of connectors on industrial type equipment. The best thing I find with these connectors is that I don't have to have any kind of plug or cap to insert or place over when I get done with the connector they don't get lost or ripped off as they hang there when the connector is in use, it's just way more convenient to me. The biggest problem I have with them is pressure build up in the grapple hoses but that only happens when my son disconnects it and doesn't plug the two ends together. But yea they do cost way more than ag's, but when you look at it just how many different pieces of equipment can I run off the front loader two a grapple or a plow I don't have the flow rate to run much more and being on the loader that is almost always involved with dirt they just seem to make sense to me!
