He was asking 700.00. And I don't have to have it either.
If I wanted it but did not need to purchase this particular item at this time, I would look at it as a great opportunity and a very large hassle on my part with the potential for significant injury if the proper loading tools and techniques were not used. One also needs to consider real transportation costs- not just fuel usage. So add at least $1 per mile- each way, maybe $1.50, to the price paid for a real total cost.
He has limited himself to a very narrow market- either folks close by that most likely already have a blade for their uses or a person at a greater distance with the want/need and ability to load 900+ pounds of steel currently sitting on the ground and with its ability to dig in at every opportunity while trying to manually load it. My 72" ROBB weighs 710 pounds and this one looks heavier than mine.
Very narrow market indeed. I might just keep checking around at other units, while keeping an eye out for a reasonable way to load this one. My guess is unless he is lucky, in time he will either come down some more on price (great price now if one can load it) which can make it more worth your time, or he will come up with a way to load it for the buyer. Currently it sits there waiting for that special person to find and cart away, which of course could happen tomorrow or 6 months from now.
On the other hand, in my area it is extremely difficult to find an advertised box blade of any age in structurally sound condition for a reasonable price. If that blade was located around here, someone would have figured out a way to load it and it would be gone. But a 2+ hour drive limits options. I saw so much "junk", for only 50% or less off new retail, spread out over months of searching, I finally just bought a new one. And no I did not go to any farm auctions.
