Rest in Peace
Again, I'm the OP and everything is going fine with the new computer. It will work for me.
It came with 30 days of Norton but when I tried to insert my purchased Norton disc I used with my other computer, the screen said that the version of Norton did not work with Windows 8. Well, the box says it does and I installed it on Windows 7 so what's the big deal.
Either I figure it out in the 0 days or I'm going to Kaspersky as others here have suggested.
Any ideas?
I've been running Norton Internet Security on my old Windows 7 machine and the new Windows 8 machine came with 15 months of Norton Internet Security. Of course I updated to Windows 8.1 on the new one. So I had two separate Norton accounts. And the new computer account was registered with my new e-mail address while the old one was registered with an e-mail address that was de-activated last month. Now of course you can use one Norton product on up to 3 computers. Confusing enough? Anyway, I just yesterday went online to Norton's support site and to a "chat" session and the lady there combined it all to one account, one product key, one e-mail address for both computers, and added the days I had remaining on the old one to the new one. So at least both computers are running the same thing now, and I won't have to renew my subscription for more than a year and a half.
