Barlows - always a good bet?

Hello,

Is Barlows still selling Kubotas via the internet? Are they still a reliable option and less expensive than local dealers more often than not?

Yes try Barlows but I don't know how the warranty would work.

I think it varies by location. I would get a price from at least 3 local dealers and then Barlows.

I live in Georgia, bought my L3240 from Barlow's this summer. I priced shopped for several months. They had a better price, delivered the tractor to my door. The one problem I found when shopping local, was finding a tractor that was new and hadn't been sitting for 2-3 years. Very happy with my experience buying from Barlow's.

I agree with Bullitt. Shop local and try Barlow's. I bought my ZD locally because they had a better price, but for my L3800, Barlow's was a much better price. Also, depending if you are not ag exempt, you will not have to pay sales tax from Barlow's. Brady is a great guy to deal with. I just got a quote from him for a BX2370 and it was very good.

Barlows only charges in state customers (like me) the Ky state sales tax. I've bought "several" Kubotas from them and am satisfied with their prices and serving my needs. Just hard for me to get delivery since I'm 2 miles down the road from them. Still waiting on a mower to be delivered, maybe this week.

just a note on that.. we do this same thing all the time but are careful to point out that it is effectively tax evasion and many states, particularly in the north east are catching on to it. CT especially. a use tax is still due to your home state. Its just not the obligation of the dealer to collect and remit it.

Mower was delivered yesterday.
Barlows sells tractors, delivers them all over the US but I'm not sure they also provide tax advise especially covering all of the different taxing laws for the other 49 states. Almost positive they don't. Guess they figure selling, delivering and servicing tractors is enough for them to do.:drink:

Hi,
I read alot of posts that rate Barlow's extremely high, but I am not able to agree with these. I have tried contacting the Brady person (is this actually a person or is an internet alias) on several occasions and have not recieved an answer in a timely manner.

Makes you wonder if you have trouble getting ahold of the business to make a purchase will they be around for any issues that might arise?

Just my thoughts but I have decided that maybe a Brick and Mortar local business might be the best way to go.

Another thought, who is the JohnThomas character? Another internet alias, maybe?
