True. In the past 10 years how many write ups have there been in Diesel Power Mag and the likes about new diesel SUV's and trucks testing/planning that never make it. I don't know because I got board with it and quit keeping up about 7 years ago.

But the Diesel part of the press release is what draws people's attention to the truck. It's a great marketing gimmick. "Hey look at us, we are showing off a new truck that will have a diesel engine, which is not yet produced nor tested nor tuned, that's why we can't give even a hint at performance or mpg numbers, and it will be out in 2 years". Makes you say "Huh"?

Actually, that would be the reason I would be scared of a new DMX, they put something new in and a couple months down the road all the demons are revealed.

assuming that chevy follows through and offers a diesel engine in the new colorado, good for them. so now ford has competition with diesel engines in small trucks and in 1/2 ton trucks. the next 5 years or so will be interesting (assuming enough people can afford to buy a $50,000 pickup truck).

I've gotten the impression that GM is trying to slot these new trucks in between the Toyotas/Nissans and a full size Silverado, and not go head to head with the somewhat smaller trucks. Maybe...
It used to be 50 grand would get you a loaded diesel p/u. Now it will get you a nice gasser. And I guess in a year or two it will get us a nice Colorado...

My cousins partner bought a new 6.0 and it lasted the 10 miles to get it home and needed a rod. Then they both bought dmax's and never looked back. I'm with you though, I tend to buy once they have been out for a while. The new Colorado would do what I need and fit in the garage better than a full size. It seems like they are not building a reg cab long box like I normally buy.
Isn't that the truth. When all that was going down my dealer was selling Mahindra tractors, he mentioned to me that they were interested in selling the trucks as well. We were both disappointed.
