OK. Drone flew over house again this morning maybe, 100 ft above. I figured I've had enough of this and called the County Sheriff's Dept. to see what's going on. Guess what, they don't have any drones. Now I'm wondering, who exactly is flying over our area all the time. I'm open for ideas. No, we're not cooking meth or making corn liquor, or growing wacky weed. What do you think?

Go to a Dollar store and buy a few hundred Happy Birthday balloons. Tether them at random heights and locations at your perimeter. The British did this in WWII.

For extra value, fill them with hydrogen. One good burp deserves another. A 10 gauge filled with flak loads ought to startle the operators, too. Remember that drones are usually real time video feeds, so the NSA can mark your spot.

I do believe that air to air combat by remote control will be a new profit opportunity. Look for me on Shark Tank !

Are you near any military bases or other locations where folks may be testing them? I'd get a good camera and snap a picture as close as possible next time, it may have identifying marks on it....

At this web site, they say they have a map of FAA drone authorizations. It's from 2012, but you may glean some insight about who does what. The FAA is the place to register your complaints although how much response or information that may be returned is anyone's guess. Give it thirty days and contact your Senator/House Rep. if you don't hear from the FAA. No one knows your concerns until you voice them.

Well, now I know it's not the Police...
“I am pleased that, as of April 3rd, Virginia will become the first state in the nation to pass a statewide limitation on drone use. I encourage the Governor to take the lead in assuring that long term rules are put in place to protect privacy and ensure that warrants are required before drones can be used in surveillance of our homes, businesses and farms,” said Sen. Don McEachin, who carried the Senate version of the regulatory bill that was amended to become a two year moratorium bill.

The moratorium legislation, as submitted to the Governor, had the following features: 1) a two year moratorium on the use of drones by law enforcement and regulatory agencies; 2) a prohibition on the use of weaponized drones; 3) an exception to the moratorium that allows the use of unweaponized drones in search and rescue, and where Amber Alerts (children), Senior Alerts (older adults) or Blue Alerts (police) are activated; and 4) an exception to the moratorium that allows the National Guard to use drones as needed to maintain readiness for its federal mission but not for any law enforcement activity.

McDonnell’s amendments specify that the moratorium does not apply to institutions of higher education or other research institutions engaged in research and development of drone technology and include an additional exception for drone use in, and training for, emergency situations.

Yes, I've seen and heard many drones each week. They are on every football game I watch -either college or pro. They are also called "talking heads" and thank goodness for the mute button on my TV controller.

I'm not a sports fan glued to the TV, so excuse my ignorance. I often wonder why sports fans need half a dozen people to tell them what just happened and what is about to happen. If they understand the game wouldn't they already know that??? Just something I've always been curious about.... ;)
