Not a drone, but I'm reading stories about local law inforcement/sheriffs receiving hand-me-downs from the Af-gain draw down and like my county that can't afford to run school buses are far short to operate this expensive and very heavy equipment. Don't see the need for 16 ton armered trucks or drones.

Armored vehicles become real danged important with a barricaded suspect and a wounded citizen or officer lying exposed in the front yard... The tax payer has already bought the vehicle, the local agencies get this stuff for free from the Feds, and only have to pay to operate the vehicle. Given that the vehicles are not used that often, it does not cost that much to operate.
A local PD has a REAL old armored car. One from WWII, not one of the new ones from Iraq, but it gets the job done when needed. I can't believe they found one that still ran....
