Any one seen a drone?

Not a drone, but I'm reading stories about local law inforcement/sheriffs receiving hand-me-downs from the Af-gain draw down and like my county that can't afford to run school buses are far short to operate this expensive and very heavy equipment. Don't see the need for 16 ton armered trucks or drones.

Armored vehicles become real danged important with a barricaded suspect and a wounded citizen or officer lying exposed in the front yard... The tax payer has already bought the vehicle, the local agencies get this stuff for free from the Feds, and only have to pay to operate the vehicle. Given that the vehicles are not used that often, it does not cost that much to operate.

A local PD has a REAL old armored car. One from WWII, not one of the new ones from Iraq, but it gets the job done when needed. I can't believe they found one that still ran....

I'm fine with that. :)

I'm not fine with the passions of some "gun nuts" feeding the psychosis of "a nut with a gun" and pretending the relationship does not exist. Humans are and always have been fascinated with death. That fascination extends to that which can cause death, or putting the power of bringing about, or preventing/ameliorating, death within our control. Ergo, [F]aith.

It's pointless to deny human nature.

Huh?, fascinated with death? What? I am fascinated with not dying! That is one of the reasons I own guns! That and shooting guns is one of the more fun things you can do fully clothed. You make out gun ownership to be some deep dark psychosis. Speak for yourself , that sure doesn't describe my feelings on the subject. You need to come into the light my friend, and step out of your darkness.

James, that is the same thing as being fascinated with not living, AKA death. Think about it. If that fails, drive past a large cemetery. Put an estimated total value on the tombstones. Go to Egypt and look at the pyramids. Consider the number of faiths where a basic element is the promise of life everlasting in some form or other. You are surrounded by the artifacts of humanity's fascination with death.

Where do I say owning a gun is about a deep, dark psychosis? I said nothing of the sort.

I know in many states it is possible to OWN AIRSPACE above your property, how much height varies I'm sure... There are some records of selling airspace above one building of say a view of a 2nd blding does not get their view blocked.

There are Drone Shoots pretty cool look on you tube for some of the videos. They are V wing foam model airplanes with flare type explosive hits that pop when shot gun shot hit one. they pilot them in high speed arc out in front of the range to shoot at much better than Skeet...

Shooting down a REAL drone could be real expensive if you dont have title to your airspace ;) maybe file with county recorder office for 15K feet above your home for air space rights. ??

Even if you own the air space, the worst you could claim is trespass...not likely to get you off scott free.

rural SW Virginia, and there isn't a whole lot going on.

Except maybe the biggest moonshine location in the world (Franklin County). They're probably looking for stills. They've done it with small planes for a long time. I've read a newspaper article about someone getting arrested for shooting at a cesna that was searching for stills.
