I agree. All this will be is a sick engine with a turbo on it. The dyno story is suspect.
I found exactly the same on my L4240......after three trips to the dealer, the district rep came up with this solution.Just out of adjustment,at least I know what it is now.We have to remember that Fred has the cab, heater, AC, whatever comes with that... so even more weight to lug vs other HST L3940s, and must've made the power loss more noticeable. Bra-vo for the thorough testing/reporting.
The times I had big power drops was when I had the 3PH's feedback lever out of adjustment. Say when moving snow, I'd feel the engine bog & drop 4 or 5 hundred rpm if raising the FEL while moving. I be reminded to lower the BB that smidge until ti; I could hear the load come off the motor, and my hydraulics weren't working the motor more while in bypass. Bog would be gone and I'd be scooting again with but a hundred or two less rpm vs twice that otherwise. Just sayin' ... and Fred's covering a lot of bases.... btw: I still keep a lift lever down slightly from the top stop after gaining the habit.![]()
Are you saying they didn't adjust it, and you still can't move the lever to the fully raised position? It's a fairly easy adjustment to make.I found exactly the same on my L4240......after three trips to the dealer, the district rep came up with this solution.Just out of adjustment,at least I know what it is now.
It was prolly dyno'd at the factory and they were reading from the dyno sheet.. DunnoI'd be surprised if any tractor dealership had the capability to dyno a tractor engine properly. I would have asked to see their dyno and the test results. I bet it was a butt-dyno from some lazy employee who doesn't care and just wanted the customer off his back. What's next, will the dealer offer to test something in their tractor lab?
